- Unlimited free changes on/before 31 May 2022 (fare differences may apply)
- One additional free change after 31 May 2022 (fare differences may apply)
How many miles do you earn?
Fares purchased under this sale will enjoy the following accrual rates when credited to KrisFlyer.
Cabin | Fare Class | Accrual |
Economy | K | 50% |
Premium Economy | R | 100% |
Business | D | 125% |
If you’re thinking about crediting these fares to other frequent flyer programmes, you can consult Wheretocredit.com for ideas.
- K fares don’t accrue miles with most of Singapore Airlines’ partners (except Virgin Australia (50%) and SAS EuroBonus (50%), so you’re better off crediting them with KrisFlyer
- R fares accrue at 100% with most of Singapore Airlines’ partners, except for Club Vistara where the rate is 150%
- D fares accrue at 200% with Alaska Mileage Plan, which would definitely be my choice over KrisFlyer at 125%.
Which countries have scrapped pre-departure testing?
If you’re looking for hassle-free travel, the following countries have scrapped pre-departure testing:
- Australia (NSW, QLD, SA require on-arrival testing via ARTs)
- Cambodia
- Canada
- European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden)
- Iceland
- India
- Maldives
- Norway
- Saudi Arabia
- South Africa
- Sri Lanka
- Switzerland
- Thailand (on-arrival PCR testing required till 30 April 2022)
- Turkey
- United Arab Emirates
- United Kingdom
As mentioned earlier, there’s no longer any requirement for fully vaccinated travellers to take a pre-departure test when coming to Singapore, so two-way testing-free travel is very much possible again.
What card should I use?
Singapore Airlines bookings code as MCC 3075 (Airlines), and using the following credit cards will allow you to maximise your miles.

Don’t forget Spontaneous Escapes
Spontaneous Escapes |
For those travelling in May, don’t forget that KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes are also available for booking till 30 April 2022, with 30% off Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class awards to selected destinations. This may be better value for some, though it really boils down to individual circumstances and how you value spending miles versus cash.
Spontaneous Escapes redemptions are not eligible for complimentary rebooking, so be sure about your plans before your pull the trigger.
Conclusion
SIA Fare Deals |
Singapore Airlines’ latest fare sale is a good opportunity to lock in some June travel plans to Asia and Australia, or trips to Europe and North America in December.
Remember that by issuing your ticket prior to 31 May, you’ll enjoy at least one complimentary change, which normally isn’t offered for Lite fares.
Looks like normal prices here, nothing that special beyond fare deals they always placed on the front page.
I’ve brought 4 sets of tickets for Perth, Sydney, Barcelona and Germany already this year and they were the same price or cheaper.
What am I missing??
I tot Australia donโt need on arrival art test since March?
Perhaps UOB Krisflyer 3 mpd with no cap could be a consideration too?
oh yes! i totally forgot that card existed…
Hi Aaron, do you know if SQ is back to 100% load? ie back to filling the fight as much as possible?
