If you’ve been thinking about getting an OCBC VOYAGE Card, now might be a good time.
For applications up till 30 November 2022, OCBC is offering new VOYAGE Cardholders 30,000 VOYAGE Miles upon payment of the first year annual fee, with no minimum spend required. This is double the usual 15,000 VOYAGE Miles, and open to all applicants regardless of whether they currently hold an OCBC credit card.
OCBC VOYAGE Card 30,000 miles welcome bonus

From 1 October to 30 November 2022, new OCBC VOYAGE Cardholders will receive 30,000 VOYAGE Miles upon payment of the first year’s S$488 annual fee.
๐ณ Alternative Option for Existing Cardholders |
Instead of the regular S$488 annual fee, existing OCBC VOYAGE Cardholders can choose to pay S$3,210 and receive 160,000 KrisFlyer miles (enhanced from the usual 150,000 KrisFlyer miles until 30 November 2022). Do note that if you choose this option, you will receive KrisFlyer miles and not VOYAGE Miles. |
This offer is open both to new and existing OCBC cardholders. There’s no mention in the T&Cs about restrictions on former VOYAGE cardholders who recently cancelled their cards, so I assume it’s come one come all.
The 30,000 VOYAGE Miles will be credited within 10 working days of the card approval date, and no minimum spend is required.
You can find the full T&Cs of this offer here.
What can you do with VOYAGE Miles?
VOYAGE Miles can be converted into KrisFlyer miles at a 1:1 ratio with no conversion fees, so this welcome offer represents buying miles at 1.63 cents apiece.
Frequent Flyer Programme | Conversion Ratio (VOYAGE Miles: Partner) |
1:1 |
VOYAGE Cardholders can also use VOYAGE Miles to offset the cost of any seat, on any flight, to any destination. The value per mile depends on the cabin and routing you choose, though in general you’ll receive around 2 cents per mile for Business Class travel.

Don’t forget, OCBC intends to add seven new hotel and airline transfer partners by the end of 2022, so you might want to wait and see what your additional options will be.
VOYAGE Miles earned on the OCBC VOYAGE do not expire, so long as the card remains active.

Conclusion
New OCBC VOYAGE Cardholders can enjoy 30,000 VOYAGE Miles as a welcome gift when paying the S$488 annual fee, double the usual 15,000 VOYAGE Miles.
While 1.63 cents per mile is far from the lowest price you can buy miles at, you need to factor in the other perks of the card such as lounge access and airport limo transfers.
Is there a secured card version of this?
Ocbc premier, deposit $200k and can get card with $30k income
Looks very expensive. Even the 160k KF miles. No spending supplement. And pretty sure most people will just go for Prestige. Already got baited to sign Prestige and Vantage. No other benefit for this card.
Voyage does not need Krisflyer redemption availability ๐ that’s the biggest benefit of the program.
But you’ll be paying the full revenue equivalent โน๏ธ which as everyone knows is crazy high right now
Tend to get 2+ cents per mile on Voyage mile, it would cost more than KF, but being able to get seats is quite the point of accumulating miles in the first place.
should also be noted that if you’re willing to explore airlines beyond SQ, you can find good value J class deals on etihad/turkish with one stop. these can then be redeemed with VMs.
Good luck accumulating anything significant at 1.3mpd. With the other cards at least they give a significant bonus for welcome spending. With voyage the bonus is fully paid and auto converted to KF. Which means your max is 30k Voyage.
Flown 3x First Class return this year already, CDG, SYD, and LHR. Been having great luck so far.
With how much spend?
Not keeping track of that, once one gets beyond a level of spend, the 1k/2k limits on 4mpd cards become silly.
If you’re talking about spend above the 7-8k/mth you can realistically obtain from 4mpd (per person excluding the 27k/y from the Titanium Rewards), you would have gotten better value through the IAP.
I’m not looking at value from regular earn but the pile of points that gets you through the door as a new card holder.
Nobody’s asking for the exact amount, but if you’re charging 200k to the Voyage card you don’t really get to say it’s a good value proposition.
Let’s put the effort to track all these spending aside, and take your 8k per month at 4mpd on the dot. You’d get 230k extra miles per year, (8k x 12 months x 2.4 extra mpd) and be subject to KF availability, which is difficult at this point. For someone earning millions of VM a year, 230k extra miles is : 1) not worth the effort tracking and keeping so many cards 2) not worth the trouble scouring KF availability and uncertainty with waitlist awards. Again, the pile of points you get is KF miles. KF miles are worth x.xx… Read more »
If you read my earlier post properly, I said that if you are earning more than the 8k/mth in 4mpd, you would have better results putting it all on Amex and getting value out of the IAP instead.
Is this applicable if applying for Voyage Premier?
only for base version.
Can base be upgraded to premier?
I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to sign up for this, now looks like a good time. Any spend level where the annual fee gets waived?
AF for the base voyage card is automatically waived at 60k spend,
Damn, i just applied for this last week!!!
Not sure why will anyone say is a bad deal. This promo basically double the miles you are receiving and it is not krisflyer. The VM are definitely worth more than krisflyer miles, considering the more opportunities to redeem them.
This is likely to be one of the best promo from ocbc.
The problem is the lack of a spending bonus where people can start to accumulate more than 30k VM. At 1.3mpd it will take forever to collect more than the 30k from the sign up. With a regular KF card you can stack the miles with other cards but with VM this is the only source for building up the balance.
Have you ever compared the prices quoted on TravelwithOCBC.com vs direct airlines website? If you have, then you must have realized that OCBC has a tendency to jack up the fare by 10-15%. So the doubled VMs are all yours, but you have to stomach the inflated airfare too. Ouch!
Still getting over 2 cpm when calculating against the direct website airfare, will take that any day!
