Great deal: OCBC Titanium Rewards sign-up bonus for new & existing customers

Expired

From now till 31 March, enjoy 5,760/11,520 miles for existing/new customers with min. S$100 spend on a new OCBC Titanium Rewards Card.

The OCBC Titanium Rewards Card may not be quite as versatile as the Citi Rewards Card or DBS Woman’s World Card, but still has an important part to play in my overall card strategy. With an annual 4 mpd cap of S$13,335, it serves as a great solution for big ticket purchases, and you can double your cap by applying for both the Blue and Pink variants.

If you don’t have an OCBC Titanium Rewards Card yet, OCBC is running an excellent sign-up offer from now till 31 March 2023. New and existing customers can earn 28,800 and 14,400 bonus OCBC$ respectively, with a minimum spend of just S$100.

OCBC Titanium Rewards sign-up bonus

Apply Here

From 16 January to 31 March 2023, customers who are approved for a new OCBC Titanium Rewards Card (Blue or Pink) will be eligible for up to 28,800 bonus OCBC$.

  New customers Existing customers
Sign-up bonus 28,800 OCBC$
(11,520 miles)
14,400 OCBC$
(5,760 miles)
โ“ Definitions
New customers are defined as those who do not hold an existing OCBC principal credit card, and have not cancelled one in the past 6 months.

A minimum spend of S$100 within the first 30 days of card approval is required. The gift can be clawed back if the OCBC Titanium Rewards Card is closed within six months from the end of the promotion period.

For avoidance of doubt, you will only qualify for the sign-up bonus once, even if you apply for both the Blue and Pink variants

  • A new customer who applies for both the Blue and Pink OCBC Titanium Rewards Cards will receive 28,800 OCBC$
  • An existing customer who applies for both the Blue and Pink OCBC Titanium Rewards Cards will receive 14,400 OCBC$

Existing OCBC Titanium Rewards Cardholders are ineligible for this promotion.

Is this worth it?

Definitely.

For a mere S$100 spend, you’ll be taking home 5,760 or 11,520 miles. That’s a simply unbeatable spend to miles ratio (115 mpd!), and even if you chose to convert those OCBC$ to cash credit (please don’t), you’re still talking about a S$40 or S$80 rebate.

Don’t forget that OCBC$ will soon be convertible to nine different airline and hotel programmes, so you’ll be able to trade them for some hotel points or “exotic” miles. A standard S$25 fee applies.

The OCBC Titanium Rewards Card’s annual fee is waived for the first two years. You can get an annual fee waiver from the third year onwards with a minimum spend of S$10,000, but in my experience, you don’t need to spend anywhere near that amount to get it.

When will bonus points be credited?

Your bonus OCBC$ will be credited according to the following timeline.

Card Approval Credited By
16-31 January 2023 April 2023
1-28 Feburary 2023 May 2023
1-31 March 2023 June 2023

What spending is eligible?

Cardholders must make a minimum qualifying spend of S$100 within 30 days of card approval.

Qualifying spend refers to any retail transaction, whether face to face or online, but excludes OCBC’s standard exclusions list. This includes:

  • Charitable donations
  • Education expenses
  • Government payments
  • GrabPay top-ups
  • Hospitals
  • Insurance premiums
  • Real estate agents
  • Utilities bills

For the full list of exclusions, refer to the OCBC Titanium Rewards T&Cs, at point 3 (i).

OCBC Titanium Rewards Card members earn 50 OCBC$ for every S$5 spent on online and offline shopping, whether in local or FCY spend. This is an effective earn rate of 4 mpd, capped at S$13,335 per membership year.

OCBC defines shopping as purchases made at any merchant with the following MCCs:

MCC Examples (non-exhaustive)
MCC 5311 Departmental Stores Takashimaya, TANGS, Isetan, OG, Metro, BHG, Marks & Spencer
MCC 5611 Menโ€™s and Boysโ€™ Clothing and Accessories Stores Benjamin Barker, Timberland, Edit Suits, Berluti
MCC 5621 Womenโ€™s Ready to Wear Stores Zara, H&M, Mothercare
MCC 5631 Womenโ€™s Accessory and Speciality Stores Tory Burch, Love Bonito, Pandora
MCC 5641 Childrenโ€™s and Infantsโ€™ Wear Stores Kiddy Palace, Mummys Market, Pupsik, Motherswork
MCC 5651 Family Clothing Stores Uniqlo, ASOS, Club 21, Burberry, Yoox
MCC 5661 Shoe Stores Skechers, Charles & Keith, Bata, Foot Locker, Pazzion
MCC 5691 Menโ€™s and Womenโ€™s Clothing Stores Ezbuy, Zalora, Fartech
MCC 5045 Computers, Peripherals, and Software Apple, Aftershock, Prism Plus, Dell
MCC 5732 Electronics Stores Best Denki, Harvey Norman, Gain City
MCC 5699 Miscellaneous Apparel and Accessory Shops Qoo10, Cotton On, Reebonz

In addition to this, transactions at the following websites are also eligible for 4 mpd:

  • Alibaba
  • AliExpress
  • Amazon (discontinued from 1 March 2023 if MCC codes as 5411 [supermarkets])
  • Courts
  • Daigou
  • Ezbuy
  • IKEA
  • Lazada
  • Mustafa Centre (discontinued from 1 March 2023 if MCC codes as 5411 [supermarkets])
  • Qoo10
  • Shopee
  • Taobao

The main drawbacks are the S$5 earning blocks, as well as the lack of transfer partners (which will no longer be an issue from February).

Conclusion

OCBC is offering a very generous sign-up bonus for the OCBC Titanium Rewards Card that’s available to both new and existing customers. With a minimum spend that’s almost token, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t take this opportunity to hop onboard.

Remember that your approval must come in by 31 March 2023, so don’t leave it till the last minute to apply.

If I have a blue titanium, am I eligible as an existing customer if I apply for the pink titanium?

Brian M

Same situation, am wondering

JHH

Thanks Aaron for checking – so itโ€™s 0 bonus points if I already have the blue titanium and apply for the pink titanium now. Interestingly the T&Cs donโ€™t contain any definition of โ€œexisting OCBC cardholderโ€ which seems to suggest that anyone who isnโ€™t a โ€œNew OCBC cardholderโ€ would get the bonus for existing cardholders.

John

If i cancel my OCBC TR Blue now and reapply Pink version next month or on March. Will i be considered as existing when apply (hold also OCBC 365) ?

Cee

Yes, since you’ve cancelled within the last 6 months

Ryan

LOL I just signed up for the pink one 2 weeks ago!

Ben

Ahhh the irony

John

the application page doesn’t work… when you click apply then select the card nothing happens!

Dan

it worked for me just few mins back, approval was instant

Polo

Is Amazon Fresh eligible for 4mpd?

Ken

Hi, Silly me but for clarity, From Mar 1 supermarket spend is ineligible?

Polo

Thanks for the clarification

Cee

@Aaron Wong

I’m a bit confused by these points:

  • A new customer who applies for both the Blue and Pink OCBC Titanium Rewards Cards will receive 28,800 OCBC$
  • For avoidance of doubt, you will only qualify for the sign-up bonus once, even if you apply for both the Blue and Pink variants

Do I need to apply for both Blue AND Pink cards to get the new sign-up bonus (28,800 OCBC$ /11,520 miles)?

Or do I just need to apply for one (Blue OR Pink) to get the new sign-up bonus?

Thanks!

cockeye

Same here – was wondering if i need to apply for BOTH the blue and pink or just 1 of either is fine?

ast

Just one.
Poor ad placement in the middle of the paragraph. You’ve got to read the start of the sentence above the ad “For avoidance of doubt, you will only qualify for the sign-up bonus once, even if you apply for both the Blue and Pink variants”

Lim Boon Hua

I just called up OCBC and was told that there is an annual cumulative earn cap of OCBC$120,000 for titanium cards. This would mean that the max spend is way lower than SGD 26k.

Would anyone know, if spends on Bath & Body is included? Thanks

Desmond

Hi, I cancelled my OCBC TR card back in Nov 22 (2 months ago). Am I eligible for this promotion as an existing customer? Asking as the t&C state Applicants who had cancelled existing OCBC Credit Card facilities within the last six (6) months are not eligible to participate in the Promotion.

Thank you for sharing this! Your site is a godsend for miles beginners like me

Sorry if this has been answered already but could I confirm if purchases at Cold Storage/NTUC count towards eligible spend?

Lurker

Hi, will this card work with Amazecard?

Anne

yes i would like to know as well. the last write up on the duo seems to b awhile ago

Dan

is grabfood spending considered fulfilling the $100 spend criteria?

Jia min

Would I still earn 4MPD on luxury spending on Europe(eg: Chanel, LV, Dior)?

Tiak

So I applied for both cards. There is no option in the app or website for authorising overseas usage, so I tried using one overseas with Amaze anyway. The transaction failed and the app showed the card was locked. I contacted OCBC (worst banking hotline in Singapore, never answers before 30 mins, and sometimes it just times out after 30 mins) and was assured the card would be unlocked within half an hour. Didn’t happen after several days. 5 calls (x 30 mins) later, I was told the card cannot be unlocked but has to be cancelled and replaced! Then… Read more »

Anyone got the bonus reward points credited yet? I applied in Jan, now is April, still no bonus miles

it's in

it’s in, probably in the last couple of days. i also applied in jan and fulfilled the requirement by feb.

just wondering

yeah, i also applied in Jan, fulfilled the requirement by Feb. Its now May & I have yet to see the bonus miles in. Anyone else received it yet?

Grace

I havenโ€™t got my bonus miles and it is almost Nov 2023. Anyone in the same situation?

Nat

Same here my bonus points are not in, I just called OCBC to check and they said my application was a normal application and not tagged to any promotion, so no bonus points. I clicked through the link during application soโ€ฆ

grace

my life is shorten just chasing them. It’s just been so long – and thankfully there’s evidence here that there are miles due to us.

I was told that my card was tied to the promotion: OCBC Credit Card Sign-Up Promotion (Online Exclusive) (https://www.ocbc.com/iwov-resources/sg/ocbc/personal/pdf/campaign/cards/tncs-governing-ocbc-cc-sign-up-online-excusive-promo.pdf) but it should also be OCBC Titanium Rewards Card Apply and Spend Promotion (the โ€œPromotionโ€) (https://www.ocbc.com/iwov-resources/sg/ocbc/personal/pdf/cards/tncs-governing-the-ocbc-titanium-rewards-apply-and-spend-promo.pdf)

Is there anything that milelion can do to advocate for us? ( i’ve also been chasing SC but they keep changing the T&Cs so i cant even find the original T&C)

Nat

Iโ€™ve now been told that there is a code tied to my application, but the code is wrong (not for the promotion I signed up for) so they cannot honour the bonus miles. That doesnโ€™t sound right – the code is not even made known to the applicant during sign up so if anything, the mistake is not on the applicantโ€™s end. It wasnโ€™t an application with a sign up code which could be input wrongly.

I agree – Milelion needs to address this.
