It’s been an exciting few weeks for DBS yuu Cardholders, who last month saw Gojek added to the yuu stable, and the almost-too-good-to-be-true 18% rebates extended till 29 February 2024.
Well, it seems the shadowy cabal of banking elites seem intent on pushing me further into the arms of cashback, because foodpanda has become the latest heavy-hitter to join the ever expanding yuu-niverse.
Earn 18% rebates on foodpanda with DBS yuu Cards
foodpanda x yuu |
From 7 September 2023, DBS yuu AMEX and Visa Cardholders will earn up to 36 yuu points per S$1 spent on foodpanda orders. This consists of:
Points | Remarks |
Base 10 points per S$1 spent |
|
Bonus 26 points per S$1 spent |
|
1 yuu point is worth 0.5 cents, so that’s equivalent to an 18% rebate, capped at S$78 per calendar month.
On top of this, by linking your yuu ID to foodpanda, you’ll earn:
- 3 yuu points per S$1 spent on your first order after linking your yuu account
- 1 yuu point per S$1 spent subsequently
โ ๏ธ Exceptions |
You will not earn yuu Points on dine-in transactions, pandago orders, orders on corporate accounts, and top-ups on pandapay wallet. |
Ignoring the first spend bonus, you’re looking at a total rebate of 18.5% (18% from DBS yuu Card, 0.5% from foodpanda). That’s not to be sniffed at, assuming you can meet the minimum spend of S$600- and remember that minimum spend need not be on foodpanda alone, it can be pooled across other yuu merchants like BreadTalk, Cold Storage, Giant and Gojek.
Redeem yuu points for foodpanda vouchers
yuu Points can normally be used to offset yuu merchant payments at a fixed rate of 1 yuu Point = 0.5 cents, but as I’ve written about before, there’s ways to get even better value out of them from the rewards catalogue.
foodpanda vouchers are now available on the yuu rewards catalogue, and from now till 31 October 2023, members can redeem 850 yuu Points for a S$5 voucher (valid till 31 March 2024).
This yields a value of 0.59 cents per yuu Point, and while that’s a better-than-normal value, the main problem is that S$5 is a relatively small denomination. Since you can only use a maximum of one voucher per order, you might be forgoing the opportunity to use something else.
What other cards can I use for foodpanda?
If you’re looking to earn miles on foodpanda orders, there are many cards out there which would give you 4-6 mpd.
Card | Earn Rate | Remarks |
UOB Lady’s Card Apply |
6 mpd | Max S$1K per c. month. Must choose “dining” as bonus category Review |
UOB Lady’s Solitaire Apply |
6 mpd | Max S$3K per c. month. Must choose “dining” as bonus category Review |
HSBC Revolution Apply |
4 mpd | Max S$1K per c. month Review |
DBS WWMC Apply |
4 mpd* | Max S$2K per c. month Review |
Citi Rewards Apply |
4 mpd | Max S$1K per s. month, excludes travel Review |
KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card Apply |
3 mpd | No cap. Min S$800 spend on SIA Group in a membership year Review |
C. month = Calendar Month | S. month = Statement Month |
But like I said in my post on yuu x gojek, even if I had a UOB Lady’s Card with 6 mpd, my value per mile would have to be more than 3 cents to trump 18% rebates. Since my valuation is at 1.5 cents, yuu is the better option to take.
18% rebates extended till 29 February 2024
The DBS yuu Card’s mega 18% rebates offer was originally set to lapse on 30 September 2023, but has now been extended all the way till 29 February 2024. That gives you additional time to rake in those S$108 worth of yuu Points every month, and that’s a good amount of milk powder for me.
Moreover, we also learned that the yuu Points exclusion list was not as onerous as previously believed. DBS has now added a caveat that the exclusion list only applies to the 1x yuu Point funded by merchants.
In other words, instead of 18% rebates (36 points/S$1), you’ll earn 17.5% rebates ([36-1] points/S$1) for items on the exclusion list, such as Giant and Cold Storage vouchers, Stage 1 infant milk formula, newspapers, and delivery charges.
DBS yuu Card sign-up offer
If you don’t already have a DBS yuu Card, the bank is currently offering the following sign-up offers for new and existing DBS customers till 30 September 2023.
New | Existing | |
DBS yuu AMEX Apply |

โ New Cardmembers are defined as those who do not currently hold a principal DBS/POSB card, and have not cancelled one in the past 12 months |
A minimum spend of S$500 within 30 days of approval is required. You’ll obviously want to spend this entire amount at yuu merchants for the biggest possible rebate.

DBS yuu Cardholders can now earn up to 18% rebates on foodpanda orders till 29 February 2024, which is a good reason to switch to cashback instead of miles on this category.
You’ll need to spend at least S$600 per calendar month on foodpanda and/or other yuu merchants to unlock the 18% rebates, but this shouldn’t be too hard to hit for most people.
Who knew aunty programmes could be exciting.
Does it have to be minimum of $600 for yuu merchants or it could be statement spending?

Does topping up the FoodPanda wallet count towards the $600?
