IHG One Rewards offering 2X points for January 2024 stays

IHG One Rewards has announced a new global promotion, and while these normally run for a calendar quarter, the upcoming one is valid for stays in January 2024 only.

Registered members will earn 2X points on all stays, with no cap on the maximum bonus that can be earned. There’s a further one-time bonus of 2,000 bonus points for staying at two brands, but that’s only available to members based in the USA.

Here’s the main points to note about IHG One Rewards’ latest global promo:

• Registration is required, and can be done between 20 December to 31 December 2023
• Stays must be between 1-31 January 2024
• No minimum stay is necessary
• All registration must be done prior to an eligible stay
• All paid nights booked directly through IHG qualify for this promotion, with a minimum nightly rate of US$30
• Award nights do not qualify for this promotion
• There is no cap on the bonus points that can be earned
• Bonus points will post within six weeks of an eligible stay

As a reminder, here’s how many points IHG One Rewards members normally earn, depending on their tier. These will be granted on top of any bonuses from this promotion.

What cards should you use to make hotel bookings?

Bookings under this promotion must be made directly with the hotels’ official websites or with IHG.

Assuming your stay is charged in foreign currency, you can use the following cards to maximise the miles earned.

Since the Citi Rewards Card doesn’t award 4 mpd for hotel transactions, pairing it with the Amaze isn’t an option. You can, however, pair the UOB Lady’s Card (with travel selected as your 10X category) with Amaze to earn 6 mpd with lower-than-bank FCY fees.
