If your wedding is coming soon and you’re looking for engagement rings or wedding bands, or if you just like shiny things, Kris+ has launched a new promotion for SK Jewellery that boosts the earn rate to 5 mpd for all purchases till 11 August 2024.
This is stackable with up to 4 mpd with the right credit card for an overall earn rate of 9 mpd.

Earn 5 mpd with Kris+ at SK Jewellery
From 22 July to 11 August 2024, Kris+ users can earn 5 miles for every S$1 spent at SK Jewellery via Kris+, upsized from the usual 3 miles per S$1.
This is valid at the following outlets:
|
|
This offer will automatically appear on the Kris+ app, and no registration is required. There is no minimum spend required, nor cap on the maximum miles that can be earned.
However, the total amount you can pay via Kris+ is limited to S$20,000 nett per day. That said, I’d like to believe that if you’re spending more than that, you’d be an important enough customer that the outlet would be willing to let you pay over multiple days or something. It never hurts to ask.
As always, don’t forget to transfer any miles earned via Kris+ to KrisFlyer:
- within 21 days of the transaction (recently increased from 7 days)
- in their entirety
If you spend any of those miles via Kris+, or wait beyond 21 days, the remaining balance will be stuck in Kris+. Miles in Kris+ expire after six months, and can only be spent at a rather dismal rate of 150 miles = S$1.
A big “Transfer to KrisFlyer” button appears after every transaction, so there’s no excuse not to do so!
Stack a further 4 mpd from credit cards
SK Jewellery transactions normally code as MCC 5944 Clock, Jewelry, Silverware or Watch Stores, but based on past data points, the MCC when paid via Kris+ changes to MCC 5999 Misc & Specialty Stores. Remember, Kris+ doesn’t usually change the MCC, but there are exceptions.
In any case, given that this is likely to be a big ticket transaction, you don’t want to take any chances. Make a point of verifying the MCC via a test transaction using either the DBS or Instarem app methods detailed below.
โ
Ways of checking MCCs |
||
Method | Ease of Use | Reliability |
โHeyMax | โโโ | โ |
๐ฑ Instarem app | โโ | โโ |
๐ค DBS digibot | โ |

Assuming it codes as MCC 5999, then the following cards would earn you up to 4 mpd extra.
Card | Earn Rate | Remarks |
Citi Rewards + Amaze Apply |
4 mpd | Max. S$1K per s. month. No bonuses if you use the Citi Rewards Card alone |
DBS WWMC Apply |
4 mpd | Max. S$1.5K per c. month |
HSBC Revolution Apply |
4 mpd | Max. S$1K per c. month |
UOB Pref. Plat. Visa Apply |
4 mpd | Max. S$1.1K per c. month |
KrisFlyer UOB Card Apply |
3 mpd | No cap or minimum spend |
C. Month= Calendar Month | S. Month= Statement month |
Again, given the likely big-ticket nature of this transaction, I would default to the KrisFlyer UOB Card. You’ll earn an uncapped 3 mpd, without having to worry about the specific MCC (as all Kris+ transactions earn 3 mpd).
Other Kris+ wedding offers
Since we’re talking about weddings, it’s worth mentioning that Kris+ is running two offers for wedding banquets with Andaz Singapore (ending very soon) and PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering.
Andaz Singapore | PARKROYAL Pickering | |
Earn Rate | 9 mpd | 9 mpd |
Customer Cap | First 50 bookings | N/A |
Payment by | 30 Sep 2024 | 31 Dec 2024 |
Payment Cap | S$30,000 | S$20,000 |
Wedding by | 31 Dec 2025 | Not stated |
Andaz Singapore
Here’s what we know about the Andaz Singapore wedding banquet offer:
- Valid for the first 50 weddings signed by 31 July 2024
- Maximum payment via Kris+ is limited to S$30,000 nett per package, and for F&B spend only
- A maximum of S$20,000 nett can be paid via Kris+ each day
- Payment must be made by 30 September 2024
- Wedding must be held by 31 December 2025
- Payments via Kris+ will not be eligible for World of Hyatt Honeymoon Bonus points
Andaz Singapore allows you to split your payment into up to three transactions. This is an important clause, because it means you will be limited in terms of the maximum number of cards you can use. A wedding banquet deposit is almost certainly going to bust the bonus caps on specialised spending cards, so you should go with two capped cards and one uncapped card (most likely the KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card).
Interested parties should contact the Andaz Singapore wedding team at GetMarried.sg@andaz.com
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering
Here’s what we know about the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering wedding banquet offer:
- Maximum payment via Kris+ is limited to S$20,000 nett per package, and for F&B spend only
Unfortunately, PARKROYAL doesn’t provide any additional details beyond this, so you’ll need to get in touch with their team for more information.
Conclusion
From now till 11 August 2024, Kris+ users can earn an upsized 5 mpd at SK Jewellery, stackable with an extra 4 mpd from your credit card.
This is an excellent opportunity to mint some miles on your upcoming wedding band purchase (also remember that Lee Hwa Jewellery is a 10Xcelerator merchant which earns up to 7.8 mpd), and if that’s your current situation, don’t forget to check out my article on the best cards to use for weddings.
