GHA DISCOVERY Titanium adds complimentary breakfast to 3 more brands

In April 2024, GHA DISCOVERY announced that it would be adding complimentary breakfast as a perk for Titanium members. The benefit was initially limited to a handful of smaller chains, such as Marco Polo and Niccolo Hotels, but GHA is adding more brands progressively.

In May, The Set Collection came onboard, followed by ASMALLWORLD and Capella Hotels & Resorts in June, and now a further three brands have come on board in August: Andronis, Araiya, and Divani Collection. 

Unfortunately, big names like Kempinski, NH Hotels and Pan Pacific still remain missing, but something tells me it might take a while before we see that happening…if at all.

GHA DISCOVERY Titanium expands breakfast benefit

GHA DISCOVERY Titanium members will now enjoy complimentary breakfast on stays at Andronis, Araiya, and Divani Collection properties worldwide. This benefit is valid for the Titanium member, and any guests staying in the same room.

Now, you probably haven’t heard of these three brands, and that’s understandable. Despite referring to itself as a “global hospitality company”, Araiya Hotels & Resorts only has a single property in Palampur, India (though its website does list five more properties as “coming soon”- all in India).

Divani’s seven properties are exclusively located within Greece (and only five appear on the GHA website, raising the question as to whether all hotels are GHA-participating), as are Andronis‘ six. What’s more, every rate I can find on the Andronis hotels website already includes breakfast, which makes me wonder what the incremental benefit here is. 

Therefore, unless these destinations and properties were already on your radar, the benefit to most Titaniums is expected to be negligible.

But I don’t want to sound too much like a party pooper, and if nothing else, it’s good to see GHA working to roll out the benefit across more of its brands.

For me, the real tipping point will be when major chains like Kempinski, NH Hotels, Pan Pacific PARKROYAL come onboard. That’s when Titanium status will really start to sway some of my upcoming stays, as opposed to being just a “nice to have”.

How does the breakfast benefit work?

The breakfast benefit applies to the Titanium member and guests staying in the same room according to the room reservation. The benefit does not apply to additional rooms booked by the Titanium member during the same stay (i.e. you enjoy it on a maximum of one room).

With chains like Hilton or Marriott, elites are technically entitled to a continental breakfast only. Some hotels go above and beyond to provide a full hot breakfast spread, but many more do just the bare minimum. I’ve been to hotel breakfasts where I’ve been told “take whatever you want except the hot food”, and others where the elite “breakfast” is a to-go bag at the front desk- forget about entering the restaurant even!

Thankfully, GHA DISCOVERY is keeping their benefit much more straightforward. As stated in the T&Cs:

The Benefit applies to breakfast served at the hotel and will be for the same breakfast type that the hotel offers to guests who have booked a room and breakfast package

In other words, you get the same breakfast as anyone who books a breakfast-inclusive rate. If they get a full hot buffet, so do you. If they get bread and water, so do you.

Don’t forget that Mastercard World Elite cardholders can get instant GHA DISCOVERY Titanium status, simply by signing up via the Mastercard website. Platinum status is available to Mastercard World cardholders, and since every entry-level credit card now holds the World badge, there’s no reason to be anything lower than this. 

Conclusion

GHA DISCOVERY has added complimentary breakfast as a perk for Titanium members staying at Andronis, Araiya, and Divani Collection. These are relatively tiny, single-country chains (and Andronis already includes breakfast for free to everyone) so it’s not exactly an earth-shattering announcement, though hopefully this isn’t the last expansion we hear of for 2024.
