Citi PremierMiles Card offering 30,000 miles & S$100 Trip.com gift card welcome bonus

From now till 31 October 2024, get a S$100 Trip.com gift card and up to 30,000 bonus miles with S$800 spend on a new Citi PremierMiles Card.

The Citi PremierMiles Card has been offering a 30,000 miles welcome bonus since August 2022. This offer has been periodically extended, with the latest iteration currently running till 31 October 2024.

Earlier this month, Citibank enhanced the offer even further by adding a S$100 Trip.com gift card on top of the bonus miles, while also launching a lucky draw that offers 10x winners 500,000 miles each.

Apply

The minimum spend remains attractively low at S$800, and you don’t even need to pay the first year’s annual fee if you don’t want to (though your welcome bonus will be lower at 8,000 miles in this case).

Apply

From 12 September to 31 October 2024, new-to-bank customers who apply for a Citi PremierMiles Card can choose from two different welcome offers.

โ“ New-to-Bank Definition
New-to-bank customers are defined as those who do not currently hold a principal Citi card, and have not in the 12 month period before application. Debit cards, supplementary cards and corporate cards do not count.

Fee Paying Option: Spend S$800, get 30,960 miles + S$100 Trip.com gift card

New-to-bank customers who pay the S$196.20 annual fee and spend S$800 within two months of approval will receive:

  • 960 miles for spending S$800 @ 1.2 mpd
  • 10,000 miles for paying the S$196.20 annual fee
  • 20,000 miles + S$100 Trip.com gift card for meeting the spending requirement

Fee Waiver Option: Spend S$800, get 8,960 miles + S$100 Trip.com gift card

New-to-bank customers who choose a first year fee waiver and spend S$800 within two months of approval will receive:

  • 960 miles for spending S$800 @ 1.2 mpd
  • 8,000 miles + S$100 Trip.com gift card for meeting the spending requirement

What counts as qualifying spend?

Successful applicants must spend at least S$800 within the first two months after approval, otherwise known as the qualifying period.

The qualifying period runs from the approval date and two full calendar months following that. For example, those approved on 15 September 2024 will have until 30 November 2024 to meet the minimum spend.

In other words, you actually have 2-3 months to hit the minimum spend, and should apply as early in the month as possible to maximise your time.

Qualifying spend excludes the following:

โŒ Qualifying Spend Exclusions
(i) any Equal Payment Plan (EPP) purchases,
(ii) refunded/disputed/unauthorised/fraudulent retail purchases,
(iii) Quick Cash and other instalment loans,
(iv) Citi PayLite/Citi Flexibill/cash advance/quasi-cash transactions/balance transfers/annual card membership fees/interest/goods and services taxes,
(v) bill payments made using the Eligible Card as a source of funds,
(vi) late payment fees and
(vii) any other form of service/ miscellaneous fees
(vii) Citi PayAll transactions where the customer is not charged the Citi PayAll service fee

Citi has previously clarified that even though transactions like education, insurance premiums, charitable donations and GrabPay top-ups will not earn base points, they will still count as qualifying spend for the purposes of welcome offers.

For avoidance of doubt, Citi PayAll transactions will count towards qualifying spend, but only if the admin fee is paid. Prior to 2 May 2023, even no-fee payments would count as qualifying spend!

Citi PayAll currently supports the following payments:

๐Ÿ’ฐ Citi PayAll: Supported Payments
  • Education Fees
  • Taxes
  • Rent
  • Insurance Premiums

When will the welcome offers be credited?

If you choose the fee paying option, 10,000 bonus Citi Miles will be credited once the annual fee has been paid.

The 8,000 or 20,000 bonus Citi Miles will be credited within three months after the qualifying spend has been met.

The S$100 Trip.com gift card will be awarded according to the following timeline:

  • Approved in September 2024: By 31 March 2025
  • Approved in October 2024: By 30 April 2025

Conclusion

Citibank has further enhanced its welcome offers for the Citi PremierMiles Card, with a S$100 Trip.com gift card now stackable with 30,000 bonus miles for just S$800 spend and paying the annual fee.

If annual fees are not for you, there’s still the option of a first year fee waiver with a S$100 Trip.com gift card and 8,000 bonus miles.

Despite its non-pooling points, I’d consider the Citi PremierMiles Card to be one of the better general spending cards on the market, thanks to its wide range of transfer partners and Priority Pass with two free visits.

Seems like lots of miles promos these days again! What is the bankโ€™s cost of acquiring the miles? Just wondering what the margin (if there is) on these for the bank.

jon

wild guess ~ 0.5 cts per mile when SQ sells it to the banks

Gary

If I have no Citi card in the past 12 months then can I qualify for this signup promo and the Citi Prestige signup promo at the same time?

I would naturally have to get the premier miles card first and maybe a few weeks later the Citi prestige card.

Seems very worth it for 1600+ 192+ 535 of spend!!

Cannot

Prestige offer wasn’t extended

Joslyn

Hello MileLion, do you know when would Citi charges the S$194.40 annual fee? Gotten my card a week ago but did not see the charge yet

Sara

Eh end of the first month i believe? that’s usually the case for my cards

Sara

im debating between this and the citi rewards. rewards seem to be better for every day use tho, esp. to pay my income tax that is coming up.

Bob

When does the invite to the PriorityPass arrive (and where?). Ive received the card, but no notification/mail re the PP, and I cant find any invite within the citibank app as per guided by the citibank website
