The HSBC TravelOne Card offers four airport lounge visits per year via DragonPass, a very generous allowance by the standards of its entry-level segment. However, there’s always been a weird annoyance- for whatever reason, lounge visits weren’t sharable with a guest.
Thankfully, that restriction will soon be removed.
HSBC TravelOne Card’s lounge visits now shareable
Per an update to the HSBC website, HSBC TravelOne Cardholders will be able to share their lounge allowance with a guest from 17 October 2024.
With effect from 17 October 2024, Primary cardholders can bring guest(s) to airport lounges utilising the available 4 complimentary visits per calendar year.
-HSBC
For example, a couple could visit the lounge twice, or a family of four could visit the lounge once.
As a reminder, the allowance granted to HSBC TravelOne Cardholders is based on calendar year. This means you can enjoy up to eight visits in your first membership year. For example, if your card is approved in October 2024:
- Upon approval, you receive 4x lounge visits to be used by 31 December 2024
- On 1 January 2025, you receive 4x lounge visits to be used by 31 December 2025
Allowances cannot be rolled over to the following year, so be sure to fully utilise your visits by the end of the calendar year. There is no obligation to renew the card for a second year, even if you’ve already utilised its lounge benefits.
Any additional visits in excess of the free allowance will be charged at US$32, and complimentary lounge visits are only granted to principal cardholders.
How to register
Lounge Benefit T&Cs |
While the HSBC TravelOne Card’s lounge benefit is provided by DragonPass, don’t download the DragonPass app!
Instead:
- Step 1: Download Mastercard Travel Pass app (Android | iOS)
- Step 2: Select ‘Sign up’ to register for the programme, or log on to your account if you’re already a member
- Step 3: Enter your HSBC TravelOne Card details for a one-time verification
- Step 4: Complete your personal details for Mastercard Travel Pass account registration (enter your name as shown in your passport)
- Step 5: Set your account password
Do note that the Mastercard Travel Pass lounge, restaurant and spa selection isn’t always an exact match for DragonPass. For instance, in Changi Airport both TranSpa in T2 and Be Relax in T3 are on the DragonPass app, but not the Mastercard Travel Pass.
Which other cards allow lounge sharing?
When it comes lounge entitlements, the good news is that the vast majority of cards subscribe to “sharing is caring”.
Following the HSBC TravelOne Card’s transition, the only outlier will be the UOB PRVI Miles Card, whose recently-added four visit entitlement can’t be shared.

Card | Network | Free Lounge Visits (per year) |

HSBC TravelOne Card | Dragon Pass | 4X Can Be Shared |
UOB PRVI Miles | Priority Pass | 4X No Sharing |
Citi PremierMiles | Priority Pass | 2X Can Be Shared |
DBS Altitude | Priority Pass | 2X* (Visa Version Only) Can Be Shared |
StanChart Journey Card | Priority Pass | 2X Can Be Shared |
Conclusion
HSBC TravelOne Cardholders can soon share their four annual lounge visits with a guest or guests, which is long overdue if you ask me. The no-sharing policy was an outlier by market standards, as most cards don’t care how many people you want to bring, so long as you stay within your overall free allowance.
Now, if only the Mastercard Travel Pass would plug the gaps in its coverage vis-ร -vis DragonPass…
To be clear, restaurant visits can also be shared, right?
you missed out CIMB VIsa Infinite
see the table notes: $30k cards only.
Does DBS Vantageโs Priority Pass 10 visits shareable as well?
yes, it can be shared.
When sharing does the cardholder have to be present as well?
i think cardholder need to be present. but can the cardholder use priority pass and just use the travelone card/mastercard travel pass for guests?
must the principal cardmember be there or can the guest go by themselves?
Supplementary card holders can use?
Do i read it as Dragonpass app do not allow sharing but Mastercard Travel Pass allow sharing.
That’s some welcoming update!
How about restaurants?
