IHG One Rewards sale: 15% off award night redemptions worldwide

IHG One Rewards runs periodic award night sales for Diamond and Platinum Elite members, which offer 15% off the regular award costs at properties worldwide. 

The last time we saw such an offer was in October 2024, and another promotion has now launched. These are first made available to those with IHG cobrand credit cards, then opened up to Diamond and Platinum members.

If you can travel by 6 April 2025, it’s an opportunity to save some points on an upcoming stay.

Save 15% off IHG award nights worldwide

Here’s the key details of IHG’s award night sale:

• No registration is required
• Stays must be booked by 12 February 2025 (The T&Cs don’t state this explicitly, but I’m assuming this refers to the hotel’s local time)
• Stays must be completed by 6 April 2025
• No minimum stay is necessary, but the discount is capped at three nights per booking
• No cap on the maximum points you can save
• You can book as many awards as you wish 

The 15% discount will be automatically reflected at the time of booking. If you’re not seeing  availability, remember that your stay must be completed by 6 April 2025 for the discount to be given. Also remember that this offer is for Diamond and Platinum Elite members only, so you’ll need to login for the discounts to appear. 

The discount can also be applied to Points & Cash bookings, but unlike the previous promotion where the cash component was discounted the full 15%, the discount on cash is now very marginal

Points and cash bookings can come in useful when you don’t have enough points for an award stay. You’ll be paying roughly 0.56 US cents per point, slightly higher than the price during IHG’s periodic 100% bonus sales (0.5 US cents per point). That said, there’s no IHG points sale going on now, so if you’re short of points then this is your only option. 

Stays booked under this promotion can be changed or refunded, subject to the usual cancellation windows for award stays. In other words, there’s no harm making a booking now, even if your travel plans haven’t firmed up.

While the discount is capped at a maximum of three nights, there’s nothing stopping you from making separate bookings at the same hotel in order to enjoy the discount on stays of four or more nights. 

The main catch here is the limited booking and travel window; you’ll need to make your bookings by this Saturday, and travel between now and 6 April 2025 to take advantage of the offer.

That said, the stay window is noticeably longer this time round at 53 days; during the last promotion, you had just 22 days to take advantage of it.

IHG One Rewards Diamond and Platinum members can now enjoy 15% off award stays worldwide, a great opportunity to save some points on an upcoming booking. The main thing to note is that each booking is limited to three nights, and you’ll need to complete your stay by 6 April 2025.

Since IHG One Rewards uses dynamic award pricing, you might as well redeem when there’s a discount on redemptions, and if you already have existing award bookings for this period, it’s worth seeing if you can cancel and rebook them in order to take advantage of the discount.
