HeyMax First offering 20% off access fees for Max Miles

From 25-27 September 2026, save 20% off the (refundable) HeyMax First access fee and borrow miles from 1.84 cents each — useful for the trio of ongoing transfer bonuses.

HeyMax First is HeyMax’s “Fly Now, Earn Later” facility, which flips the script on earning and burning. Members can borrow Max Miles to redeem a flight or hotel stay today, then earn back the deficit at their own pace.

The facility has two types of fees:

  • a membership fee, which is waived for the first year
  • an access fee, which is paid when withdrawing miles, and fully refunded when the borrowed miles are returned

For the next three days, HeyMax First is offering 20% off access fees, which reduces the upfront cash needed to borrow Max Miles. This could come in handy if you want to take advantage of the ongoing transfer bonuses to JAL Mileage Bank, Flying Blue and GarudaMiles, or if you’re chasing the Trust Freedom Card’s 100,000 miles welcome offer, and want to use the bonus miles before they’re credited.

HeyMax First offering 20% off access fees

From 25-27 September 2026, HeyMax First will discount its access fee by 20% across all membership tiers.

Tier Miles Pool Member Fee
(first year free)
Access Fee
(per mile)
Silver 30K Free 3¢
2.4¢
Gold 100K S$299 2.7¢
2.16¢
Platinum 300K S$699 2.5¢
2.0¢
Reserve 1M S$1,999 2.3¢
1.84¢

For example, a Reserve member could withdraw up to 1,000,000 Max Miles at 1.84 cents each (S$18,400), instead of the usual 2.3 cents each (S$23,000).

To be clear, the access fee will be refunded based on the actual rate you paid at the time of drawdown, so there’s no arbitrage opportunity here.

How does HeyMax First work?

As a reminder, every HeyMax user already has access to a HeyMax First Silver membership by default. They can choose to upgrade to a higher tier if they wish, in order to pay a lower access fee — the first year’s membership fee is waived in any case.

To withdraw from or repay your miles pool, open the HeyMax app, tap on Profile > HeyMax First.

Withdrawals

Tap on Draw Miles, then select the number of miles you wish to withdraw (in blocks of 10,000) and pay the access fee through the PayNow QR code that will be generated.

Once you’ve made payment, tap “I have paid via PayNow”, and the miles will be deposited instantly.

Repayment

Tap on Reclaim Now, then select the number of miles you wish to repay (in blocks of 10,000). Confirm your PayNow mobile number, and the refund will be made within one day.

When do I need to repay the Max Miles?

There is no hard deadline to repay. You can reclaim your access fee so long as you’re a HeyMax user.

There’s no deadline. Reclaim eligibility persists indefinitely — even if you don’t renew a paid tier or pause your HeyMax activity. Your outstanding access fees remain reclaimable for as long as you’re a HeyMax user.

-HeyMax

That said, you don’t want to wait too long, because your funds with HeyMax won’t be generating any interest.

In case you were wondering, making a withdrawal does not “lock you in” to your current tier. If your membership year is ending and you still have an outstanding balance, there is no obligation to renew at the same tier level.

For example, suppose I’m a HeyMax First Platinum member with an outstanding drawdown of 200,000 Max Miles. At the end of my membership year, instead of renewing Platinum and paying a further membership fee of S$699, I can downgrade to the free Silver tier. When I repay my outstanding balance, the access fee will be refunded at the original Platinum rate of 2.5 cents per mile.

Of course, I won’t be able to withdraw any further miles from the Silver tier’s pool of 30,000 Max Miles until my outstanding balance is less than 30,000, but at least I won’t be forced to renew at the same Platinum tier.

How can I earn back the Max Miles?

HeyMax has been steadily expanding the avenues to earn Max Miles, but some of the more popular options are:

⚠️ Not an automatic deduction
HeyMax will not automatically deduct Max Miles to repay the deficit. Users will instead initiate the repayment (and refund of the access fee) from their app. This gives them the flexibility of deciding when to repay.

Ongoing transfer bonuses

HeyMax is currently offering three transfer bonuses to JAL Mileage Bank, Flying Blue and GarudaMiles.

JAL Mileage Bank

Users will receive 1.27 GarudaMiles miles for every 1 Max Mile transferred, instead of the usual 1 mile. A minimum transfer of 1,000 Max Miles is required, with blocks of 1,000 Max Miles beyond this.

While the base miles will be credited instantly, bonus miles will only be credited within 60 days after the promotion period ends.

Conclusion

HeyMax First members can now save 20% on the usual access fees when drawing Max Miles from their miles pool, reducing the cost to as low as 1.84 cents per mile.

If you’re interested in any of the ongoing transfer bonuses, or simply want to use your Trust Freedom Card’s sign-up bonus now, this would be the time to check out the facility. Remember, everyone gets a Silver membership by default, but you can upgrade to the Reserve tier for a year for free, and lower the “float” that needs to be paid to HeyMax.
