American Express and Accor Hotels launched a new global partnership earlier this year, featuring points transfers and complimentary elite status.
Membership Rewards points transfers to Accor Live Limitless (ALL) went live last month — at surprisingly good value — and now, the AMEX Platinum Credit Card, AMEX Platinum Reserve and The Platinum Card (formerly known as the AMEX Platinum Charge) are offering cardholders an instant upgrade to ALL Gold status.
AMEX Platinum Cards now offer ALL Gold status

From 4 November 2026, AMEX Platinum Credit Card, AMEX Platinum Reserve and The Platinum Card are offering cardholders an instant upgrade to ALL Gold, bypassing the usual 30-night requirement.
Upgrades can be done through the Amex Experiences app, under Platinum Lifestyle.

Before you get too excited, ALL Gold is basically mid-tier status. The main benefits are:
- A 48% bonus on points accrual
- Room upgrade, subject to availability
- Early check-in or late check-out, subject to availability
- Welcome drink coupons
Compared to a Silver member, you have some vague chance of a room upgrade, early check-in or late check-out, but all of these are subject to availability, and you’ll be behind Platinum and Diamond members in the pecking order.

| If you’re lucky enough to have an AMEX Centurion Card, you’ll receive the far more valuable ALL Platinum status, which offers complimentary breakfast at Asia Pacific hotels and lounge access. |
If you already have ALL Gold status, perhaps through an ALL Accor+ Explorer membership, then this won’t be of much use. That’s because the benefit upgrades your existing status directly rather than crediting status nights, so it won’t help you progress towards Platinum.
Also, it’s worth noting that ALL Gold is only available for principal cardholders. This is unlike American Express’ other elite status fast tracks for The Platinum Card, which are offered to both principal and supplementary cardholders.

Points transfers are already live
As I covered last month, American Express cardholders can now transfer Membership Rewards points to ALL points at a 2.5:1 ratio.

| AMEX MR Points | ALL Points |
| 1,000 | 400 |
- Transfers are in blocks of 1,000 MR points
- Transfers should be completed instantly, but may take up to 48 hours
- No conversion fee
- No annual conversion limit
- Conversion rate is the same across all Membership Rewards-earning cards
To make a transfer, you’ll first need to link your ALL account to Membership Rewards, which can be done here. Once that’s done, you can proceed to make transfers — in my experience, these are completed instantly.

ALL points are valued at:
- 1,000 points = €20, when used to offset room rates, or dining, spa treatments and other incidentals charged to a room during a stay
- 1,000 points = €10, when redeeming points for dining or spa treatments outside of a stay
You should always choose the first option, so the conversion ratio values 1 MR point at 1.15¢.
If you have The Platinum Card, 1 MR point is also worth 0.5 miles with all of American Express’ airline partners (except Emirates Skywards, which in any case is still unavailable), so this is equivalent to cashing out miles at 2.3¢ each.
If you have the AMEX Platinum Credit Card or AMEX Platinum Reserve, 1 MR point is worth 0.45 miles, so this is equivalent to cashing out miles at 2.53¢ each.
I’ll be honest — this is a rate at which I would happily cash out a good number of MR points. It’s certainly much better than Hilton and Marriott anyway, given how both programmes have hiked award prices in recent years.
Conclusion
The AMEX Platinum Credit Card, AMEX Platinum Reserve and The Platinum Card now come with complimentary ALL Gold status, though it’s not exactly a game-changing benefit. Beyond the 48% points bonus and welcome drink coupons, the headline perks like upgrades and early check-in/late check-out are subject to availability, and Gold members are fairly low in the pecking order. It’s also limited to principal cardholders only, which is a strange departure from the other status fast tracks that AMEX offers.
I’m far more excited about the points transfers, which allow you to cash out Membership Rewards points at 2.3 to 2.53 cents per mile. In fact, I’d consider this the best use of MR points right now, so take advantage of it while it lasts.
