If you hold a Maybank credit card, you might like to know that from 15 November to 31 December, you can earn a 25% bonus on TREATS points transfers to Cathay Pacific’s Asia Miles.
The standard conversion rate is 5,000 TREATS points to 2,000 AsiaMiles, so with the promotion you get 2,500 AsiaMiles instead. A conversion fee of $25 plus GST applies, unless you’re the holder of a Maybank Visa Infinite or Maybank World Mastercard in which case the fee is waived.
The full T&C can be found here. If you need an intro to Asiamiles, you can have a read of our primer guide here.ย I’ve written about Maybank cards a few times on this site, but to summarize- the Maybank Horizon Visa Signature is an excellent choice for a dining card with 3.2 mpd on dining. Spend on this card also helps you earn bonus interest on the Maybank Saveup account. And if you earn >$150,000 a year, why not get yourself a Maybank Visa Infinite– the first year fee is waived and you get unlimited priority pass access.
This promotion marks the second time in recent memory that a bank has offered a points conversion bonus (HSBC did this a few months back). I do hope that the bigger local banks like DBS and UOB have a similar promotion soon but that might be wishful thinking.
Thanks to reader Melvin for this tip.
