Earlier this month, I wrote about Club 1 Hotels, a membership site which offers discounts at more than 870,000 four and five-star hotels across 203 countries. Some of the great deals I managed to find included the Conrad Koh Samui at 17% off, the Banyan Tree Bintan at 23% off and Quay West Suites Sydney at 22% off official prices.

Just for fun, I decided to check out my favourite Conrad Koh Samui again for a 2019 National Day stay. A cancellable breakfast-included rate on the official site for 3 nights was THB 103,981 all-in, or about US$3,212.
The same room on a Club 1 cancellable breakfast-included rate was US$2,485 all-in, a saving of more than 20%. Fair point to note- Club 1’s cancellation policy was a bit more restrictive than the official site, but the rate is still fully refundable before 17 July 2019. Bookings made through Club 1 do code as hotel spend for the purposes of credit card bonuses, but do not receive elite status credit with hotel chains.
