Black Friday isn’t even here yet but Hilton has launched a pretty exciting 50% off saleย (note: that’s 50% off, period,ย not up to 50%) for all properties in Japan, Korea, and selected properties in Thailand and the Maldives.
The 50% off sale is for Hilton Honors members, but it’s absolutely free to join anyway.ย Rooms must be booked by 1pm SGT on 23 November, and stays must be between 20 November 2018 and 28 March 2019.ย

The promotion landing page is from the Hilton Japan website, and you may encounter a strange pop-up message the first time round. That’s just the usual cookies warning. Click the button on the left and it’ll disappear.
Do note these rates are non-refundable, so be sure to firm up your plans before booking.
Here are some of my picks:
Conrad Koh Samui
This may be one of the cheapest opportunities to check out the Conrad Koh Samui.ย The member’s rate starts at S$440 a night, or S$521 after tax. Put it another way- even if you bought Hilton points for 0.5 US cents each at the biggest public sale they have, you’d be paying the equivalent of 95,000*0.5=US$495 a night, more than the amount you’d pay under this sale!
If you’ve been looking to check this property off your bucket list, you’d be hard pressed to find a better rate than this.
Conrad Maldives
Yes, I’m going back to the Conrad Maldives again. The flash sale brings Beach Villas down to S$706++ a night for beach villas, way below the usual S$1,300++ rates.
A water villa can still be yours for S$954++, although the case for buying and using Hilton points here is definitely stronger than with the Conrad Koh Samui.
Conrad Tokyo & Osaka
If city locations are more your thing, you can try out the Conrad Tokyo for S$389++ a night…
…or the Conrad Osaka for S$288++ย a night.
You’re going to want to be careful about these two properties, because some people on the Telegram Group swear they jacked up the rates just before the flash sale. I don’t consciously monitor Japan hotel prices, but I do for Koh Samui and the Maldives and think the prices on offer for those two at least are pretty good.
Update 10pm: Japan hotel rates are apparently lower now than they were when this post was launched. Do check again
Conclusion
If you’re planning to head to these countries within the sale period, you should definitely see if there’s an opportunity to upgrade your hotel while sticking to your budget. Remember that you can get Hilton Gold status with just 2 stays thanks to the ongoing Visa Signature/Infinite challenge, or instantly with the AMEX Platinum Charge card.
Re Aaron’s comments about Conrad Tokyo and Conrad Osaka possibly jacking up prices before the sale, I do have some anecdotal evidence for today’s sale with another Hilton Japan property. I was monitoring the price for Hilton Tokyo’s King City Suite Executive. “Flexible Rate” before the flash sale was JPY48,500 per night and the “Members Flash Sale Room Only” rate is JPY33,500 pets night. The flash sale was slightly over 30% off instead of 50%.
Theyโre all crooks…
Iโm not bitching… just saying… these days Iโm quite zen about the whole thing… Itโs either you work for them, or you make them work for you.. I choose the latter.. and choose to (mostly) not get upset when things donโt go the way I want.. I just โadjustโ accordingly with the โtoolsโ Iโve got..
