As of March 20, 11.59 p.m, all Singapore residents and long-term pass holders arriving from any overseas country will be served with a 14-day stay-home notice (SHN).
As the name suggests, an SHN entails isolating yourself from close contact with other people. Regular spot checks will be done, and you may face prosecution if you do not comply.
Discounted hotel rates for SHN-servers
An SHN can be served at home, but there may be returning individuals who don’t have a regular place of abode in Singapore, or who prefer to maintain some distance from family members as a precaution.
To assist this group, the Singapore Global Network has secured preferential rates with numerous hotels. These rates cannot be booked on the regular hotel website; you’ll need to contact the hotel via email (contact details here) and quote SGN.
See the full list of rates here
Needless to say, these deep discount rates are not for staycations. Leaving aside the fact it’d be kind of uncool to take advantage of this initiative, these rates are for 14-day stays. Once you’ve booked, you’re committing to stay there for the 14-day period (you can’t, by definition, leave half-way to go home). I imagine they’ll also ask to see a copy of the SHN at check-in.
I’ve taken the liberty of sorting the list by rates. For those who need a bit more space, certain hotels offer larger rooms for a small top-up; you can enquire about this when booking.

Students in particular will want to note that they can enjoy a special rate of just S$80 nett at the Park Hotel Group. |
Most of these rates don’t include breakfast (which makes sense, because you can’t exactly head down to the buffet line in the morning and start milling about). However, most of them offer discounts on in-room dining.
Moreover, quite a few hotels are offering “meal plans” for 3 daily meals at S$30-60 nett per day, to help keep F&B expenses in check. Others offer discounts on laundry. These details can be seen on the full spreadsheet.
This is hardly front-of-mind for me, but because I’m sure it’ll be asked: My guess is these rates will not qualify for elite status credit or points earning. If that’s really important to you, feel free to ask when you make your booking.
Update: Have seen a data point that the Hilton offers elite status credit and points |
Conclusion
This is a great initiative by the SGN, and presents another option for those who don’t have/prefer not to stay at home. There’s a host of other useful Covid-19 resources on the SGN’s website, so be sure to check those out too.
Whether you’re serving your SHN at home or in a hotel, do exercise precautions and monitor your health. And cheer up- when this is all over, we’ll have some fantastic travels in the years to come.

No Marriott? I have a double elite night promo and canโt find way to use it…
Oh come on, if they are staying there, where shall I staycation!
โThis is hardly front-of-mind for me, but because Iโm sure itโll be asked: My guess is these rates will not qualify for elite status credit or points earning. โ
Very disappointing lah! Shouldnโt this be ALWAYS at front of mind? ๐คญ๐คฃ
Also need to clarify if the hotels accept credit cards for these rates, or cash / cheque only, if so which card should be used – hotels normally donโt do Paywave! ๐
Haha maybe for those who still have a chance of re-qualfying for status. As for me, I’m down to credit card status for the rest of the foreseeable future
They are confined in the room, so will not affect normal hotel guest or local staycation guests.
Because I have a couple of staycations coming up also lol
Hmm. Doing a staycation at one of the listed hotels. I hope they have a specific floor for the SHNers to minimize the mingling with other guests.
Doesnt a shn mean you literally can’t leave the hotel room?
Cannot doesn’t mean won’t. And what are the hotel’s protocols to handle SHNs?
This honestly requires clarification from MOH. It says you canโt leave your residence, and within your residence you should ideally have your own room and toilet. Arguably your residence is the hotel.
credit to jon sheppard from the telegram group. I enquired with Conrad and they said no points/tier nights and no upgrades for elite members (all SHN rooms are only on 1 floor) – I assume similar for most hotels/chains: As advised by the ministry, the hotel will be implementing the following precautions : a) Guests will not be permitted to leave their room throughout the 14-day SHN. b) Guests will not be permitted entry into the facilities at the hotel including the lobby, restaurants, lounge, meeting spaces, swimming pool, spa and health club. However, Guests can order food and drinks… Read more »
What about central air-conditioning? The virus can spread very quickly if any SHNer is positive.
pls PM +601118838837 Kenny Thank you.
These rates are outdated. I contacted JW Marriott and the gross amount per day was 289 with only breakfast included. Don’t know whether the above is not for foreigners. Ultimately, I think those mentioned rates are not valid anymore.
