One day only: Earn up to 15X GrabRewards points on 11.11

To mark 11.11, Grab is offering GrabPay users 11x bonus points (on top of the base earn rate) for every S$1 they spend online using the GrabPay wallet or GrabPay Mastercard. 

What makes this particularly attractive is that you can stack this with a just-launched American Express promotion, and potentially pick up an Amazon.sg gift card too…

GrabPay 11.11 Booster

On 11 November 2020 only, all GrabPay transactions made online will earn an additional 11x bonus points, on top of the base earn rate. 

This is limited to the first 20,000 transactions, and capped at 3,000 bonus points per user. In other words, you’d max this out with S$272 of spending. 

Now, I know that doesn’t sound all too impressive, given that you could easily earn 4 mpd on online spending with the DBS Woman’s World Card or the Citi Rewards Card. However, there are two reasons why this may still be attractive nonetheless.

Stack with AMEX’s GrabPay top-up offer

No, it’s not an April Fool’s joke. American Express cardmembers can now earn up to 1 mpd on GrabPay top-ups, from now till 10 May 2021. 

To be eligible, they’ll need to register for the offer via the AMEX app or online banking portal. You’d better get down to it soon, because there’s a registration cap of 25,000 KrisFlyer credit cards, and 15,000 Membership Rewards cards. 

Assuming you use an AMEX KrisFlyer card, you can add 1 mpd to the 1.3-1.5 mpd by topping up your GrabPay balance, then spending with the GrabPay card. 

Get a bonus S$15 Amazon gift card

From 1-14 November 2020, Amazon is giving away a S$15 Amazon.sg gift card to those who spend S$100 or more on Amazon.sg using the GrabPay Mastercard.

This is limited to the first 2,000 customers, and I have no idea if the cap has already been hit. But assuming it hasn’t, you’re looking at 2.3-2.5 mpd + S$15 back on a S$100 Amazon.sg spend, something I’d gladly take over 4 mpd. 

If you qualify, the S$15 gift card will be credited to your Amazon account within 30 days of 14 November 2020. 

Conclusion

While GrabRewards points were severely devalued earlier this year, the 11.11 promotion may still be worth looking at for those who want to shop on Amazon.sg. 

No registration is required, but for the best chance of getting the bonus points, you’ll want to stay up late tonight and make your transactions just after midnight.
