IHG has announced their latest promo for Q1 2021, which gives registered members 2,000 bonus points with every stay of at least two nights. These bonus points will also count towards elite status qualification, which is an interesting departure from the norm.
For some strange reason, the link may ask for an offer code- try 41776. If that still doesn’t work, look out for the eDM in your inbox and click that link to register (the promo is not targeted; it’s a global offer).
IHG’s Q1 2021 promotion
This promotion is valid for stays between 20 January and 31 March 2021. Registration is required prior to your stay (but it’s fine if you made your bookings before registration), and only takes a minute to do.
Once registered, you will earn 2,000 bonus points for every stay of at least two nights, up to a maximum of 70,000 bonus points. All paid nights booked directly with IHG will qualify for this promotion, as long as the nightly rate is at least US$30 (not a problem in Singapore, for sure). Award nights will not qualify under this promotion.
Bonus points earned through this promotion will also count towards IHG Rewards Club elite status qualification. As a reminder, here’s how many points each elite tier requires- IHG has reduced elite qualifying requirements for 2021 (as well as 2020) by 25%:
Tier | Points | Nights |

IHG has reduced elite qualifying requirements for 2021 (as well as 2020) |
To make requalification for elite status easier this year, IHG has also announced that they are rolling over to 2021 all qualifying nights earned by elite members in 2020. This will reflect by the end of March. as per TPG.
Conclusion
If you booked yourself an IHG stay under their Cyber Monday or recent Flash Sale, you’ll definitely want to register yourself for this offer. 2,000 points isn’t a whole lot (it’s worth roughly US$10), but hey, if you’re staying anyway…
This offer certainly isn’t as attractive as what we’ve seen Marriott or Hilton offer though, and it wouldn’t convince me to switch my staycation business in any meaningful way.
