Extended: DBS offering 10 mpd on hotel staycations booked with Agoda

In July last year, DBS launched a 10 mpd offer on Agoda hotel bookings. This was originally due to expire on 31 December 2020, but DBS has now extended it for bookings and stays completed by 30 June 2021. 

The 10 mpd is capped at a certain limit per month, beyond which the rate drops to either 6.4 or 8.2 mpd, depending on card. 

While the offer is valid for both local and overseas hotels, the indefinite suspension of leisure air travel means staycations are your best bet. 

DBS x Agoda staycation offer

The DBS x Agoda is available to holders of the following cards:

• DBS Altitude AMEX (T&C)
• DBS Altitude Visa (T&C)
• DBS Woman’s Card (T&C)
• DBS Woman’s World Card (T&C)

Eligible cardholders must make bookings through this special Agoda link and select a hotel with the “Promotion Eligible” label. 

Provided their booking is made and completed by 30 June 2021, cardholders will earn 10 mpd, subject to a cap:

To ensure proper tracking, cardholders will need to key in the mobile number they have registered with the bank during booking. Look for this field on the right hand side of the screen (it’s not the usual place where you enter your contact number when making a hotel booking). 

Remember: in order to earn the 10 mpd, you must ensure that the “promo eligible” badge appears on the hotel listing, and payment must be made to Agoda. You will not earn any bonus miles if you choose to pay later at the hotel. 

When will bonus miles be credited?

The bonus miles from this promotion will be credited within 2 calendar months from the end of the promotion period, i.e 31 August 2021. 

However, if you participated in the promotion under the previous terms and conditions (i.e in 2020), you should still get your bonus miles by 28 February 2021, in accordance with the original timeline. 

Conclusion

While 10 mpd is an attractive offer, do make sure the rate offered on Agoda is competitive. Most hotels offer better staycation deals when you book direct (they need to pay Agoda 20% of the total stay value, which limits how generous they can be), so it’s worth checking out the official website. 

Keep in mind it’s not too hard to earn 4 mpd on your hotel staycations with the right cards, so the real additional benefit here is only 6 mpd.
