OCBC VOYAGE offering enhanced cash out rates for limo rides

Expired

From now till 31 March 2021, OCBC VOYAGE cardholders can redeem limo rides for at least S$25 each, 20% more than normal.

Late last year, OCBC VOYAGE extended the validity of all outstanding limo rides till 30 June 2021, and started offering cardholders the option to cash them out for S$20 each. That’s a commendable initiative, given how some other banks (which shall remain nameless) simply cancelled all rides earned last year.

If you’ve been on the fence about cashing out your OCBC VOYAGE limo rides, here’s something that might nudge you. From now till 31 March 2021, OCBC is increasing the cash out value for limo rides by at least 25%.

<ADV> OCBC Premier VOYAGE: This Chinese New Year, exchange your Limo Rides for cash! One Limo Ride gives you S$25, 5 Rides for S$128, 10 Rides for S$258, and 25 Rides for S$688. Till 31 March 2021. Enhanced value for VOYAGE limo rides

From now till 31 March 2021, OCBC VOYAGE cardholders can convert limo rides to statement credits at the following rates:

RidesValueValue/ Ride
1S$25S$25
5S$128S$25.60
10S$258S$25.80
25S$688S$27.52

The regular rate was 1 limo ride= S$20, so this is a boost in value of at least 25%. The more rides you redeem at one shot, the higher the value, so if you’re just shy of the next transfer block, perhaps you can hold off for now.

The enhanced rates are already reflected on the OCBC rewards portal. This is not a targeted offer, and is open to all OCBC VOYAGE cardholders. Cash credits will be awarded to your account within 7 working days.

As a reminder, OCBC VOYAGE cardholders currently earn a free limo ride with every S$5,000 spent in a month (increased from S$3,000 in June 2020). At a value of S$25 per limo ride, it’s a 0.5% rebate. This doesn’t sound like a lot, but remember, you also earned VOYAGE miles on top of that.

Conclusion

Frankly, most people won’t have use for their limo rides before June 2021. Even if vaccinations lead to quarantine-free travel, the average Singaporean may not get vaccinated until Q3 or so. I’d probably take this opportunity to recoup some of my spending, rather than gambling on travel opening up.

Unless you want to use your rides to visit Jewel…
