As regular readers may already know, SingSaver periodically offers some lucrative sign-up gifts for new-to-bank Citi customers. We’ve seen Apple AirPods, Apple Watches, Dyson Fans, and for the month of February, S$350 cash (the largest gift yet).
However, the Citi PremierMiles was recently excluded from those promotions. And now we know why- a new Citi PremierMiles exclusive sign-up gift has launched, offering new-to-bank customers a free 1-night stay at the Marriott Tang Plaza Singapore, with breakfast included.
Citi PremierMiles Card free staycation offer
This offer is valid for Citi PremierMiles Card applications received between 19 February to 4 March 2021. New-to-bank cardholders who receive approval by 4 April 2021 and make at least one qualifying transaction within 30 days of approval (of any amount) will receive the staycation gift.

The qualifying transaction can be pretty much anything, except:
- any Equal Payment Plan (EPP) purchases,
- refunded/disputed/unauthorised/fraudulent retail purchases,
- Quick Cash and other instalment loans,
- Citi PayLite/Citi Flexibill/cash advance/quasi-cash transactions/balance transfers/annual card membership fees/interest/goods and services taxes,
- bill payments made using the Eligible Card as a source of funds,
- late payment fees and (vii) any other form of service/ miscellaneous fees
Eligible customers will receive a staycation voucher for the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Stays can be redeemed on weekdays or weekends, with blackout dates from 1-4 Oct 2021 (F1) and 24-31 December 2021 (Christmas & New Year). Gifts will take up to four months to fulfill, and the full T&C can be found here.
SingSaver claims the staycation is worth up to S$480++, but I can actually find dates where breakfast-inclusive rates price well above that. If you want to get the most out of your voucher, look at stays from August to October 2021, where it’s not uncommon to see S$500++ nights.

Since you’re enjoying a first-year fee waiver, you won’t be able to stack this with the 45,000 miles sign-up bonus that Citibank is currently offering. However, you will be eligible for a smaller offer of 13,200 bonus miles upon spending S$4,000 within 3 months of approval.
Conclusion
It’s great to see a new sign-up gift, but you should keep in mind that you’re parlaying your precious new-to-bank status. So you’ll have to decide whether you value a Marriott staycation more than S$350 of cash, or whatever the alternative gift is.
