InterContinental Singapore (the one at Bugis) has launched a March Madness Flash Sale, which runs from now till 1 March 2021.
During this sale, breakfast-included staycation packages start at just S$188 nett (the rate’s valid for weekends too!), stay vouchers are up to 35% off, dining vouchers are up to 50% off, and 1-for-1 deals are available at Ash & Elm and The Lobby Lounge.
March Madness Hotel Stays
InterContinental Singapore is offering the following March Madness staycation package for stays between 28 February to 30 April 2021.
- Guaranteed room upgrade
- Breakfast for 2 adults
- Guaranteed 11 a.m check-in
- Guaranteed 3 p.m check-out
- 20% off F&B at Ash & Elm, Man Fu Yuan and The Lobby Lounge
This costs S$160++ (S$188 nett) for a Heritage Room (which will be automatically upgraded to a Deluxe Room), and S$190++ (S$224 nett) for a Deluxe Room (automatically upgraded to a Premier Deluxe Room)
What’s great is that rates are static, and valid for both weekdays and weekends, even during the March school holidays (13-21 March 2021).

All bookings are non-refundable, and a full deposit is required at the time of booking. The rate details say that IHG Rewards Club points will not be awarded, but interestingly enough, there’s still a field to enter your membership number. I’d just do it anyway; the previous Suite Surprise package supposedly didn’t earn points either, but points still got credited in the end.
March Madness Hotel Vouchers
From 26 February to 1 March 2021, InterContinental Singapore is selling room stay cash vouchers in the following denominations:
- Pay S$375 for S$500 value (25% off)
- Pay S$650 for S$1,000 value (35% off)
Vouchers must be utilised by 30 April 2021, and can be applied to Best Flexible Rates and stay packages, non-inclusive of Book Now Pay Later or any other advance purchase packages.
It would appear that this precludes them from being used with the March Madness staycation packages above (since those require prepayment), but it doesn’t hurt to email and ask. I distinctly remember that during the previous Travel Spark voucher sale, it was possible to buy discounted InterContinental vouchers and use them with the (supposedly prepaid) Suite Surprise package. You just had to make a booking via email instead of the online interface.
Dining cash vouchers are also on sale, in the following denominations:
- Pay S$225 for S$300 value (25% off)
- Pay S$300 for S$500 value (40% off)
- Pay S$500 for S$1,000 value (50% off)
Just like stay vouchers, dining vouchers must be utilised by 30 April 2021.
There’s no indication of what denomination these vouchers are issued in, so I’m assuming it’s just one lump sum value that can be continuously utilised until it’s drawn down to zero. It’d better be, because there’s a limitation of one voucher per transaction.

Vouchers can only be used on ala-carte menu items at Ash & Elm, Man Fu Yuan and The Lobby Lounge, non-inclusive of seasonal offers, brunch menu or any other promotion. They are not valid for use on the eve of and on Public Holidays, festive periods and special occasions. Blackout dates apply.

Conclusion
The March Madness Sale looks even more generous than the ones we’ve seen previously, with up to 35% off stay vouchers and 50% off dining. For comparison, during the Travel Spark sale, stay vouchers maxed out at 30% off, and during the 12.12 sale, dining vouchers maxed out at 40% off.
While I don’t think they intended to make the staycation packages bookable during the March school holidays, the reservation system allows you to do it nonetheless. Don’t worry about making a booking; the worst they can do is cancel your stay and refund you the money.

Made 2 bookings for 16th March but have yet to be given any room until now (2.30pm) now.
Raised my issue during check out as early check in was not extended, late check out was only until 2pm only. Recovery for this was to waive off the parking fees and also abit of incidental charges. Overall they were apologetic about it as I think they are quite full.
