Million Mile Giveaway: How to participate
To participate in the draw, you’ll need to do the following:
- Apply and receive approval for an AMEX Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Credit Card or KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card through The Milelion
- Submit your Application Reference Number (located on the “thank you” page at the end of the application form) and contact information via this link
All applications must be made from 1-30 April 2021, and approval must be received by 18 May 2021. Approved applicants must charge at least S$1 on their card by 31 May 2021, and the annual fee must be paid in the case of the AMEX KrisFlyer Ascend.
Those who cancelled a American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Credit Card or KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card in the past 12 months will not be eligible for the draw, even if they apply again during this period. However, if you are upgrading from the American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Credit Card to the American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Card, you will be eligible.
The draw will be conducted on 2 July 2021, and the results will be published in the Straits Times within 7 days after the confirmation of the winner. The winner receives 1,000,000 KrisFlyer miles, deposited into his/her account approximately four weeks after the winner is announced.

What can you do with 1 million miles?
Quite a bit, actually. To put things into perspective, 1,000,000 KrisFlyer miles would be enough for:
- Singapore to Bali in Economy Class: 66 times
- Singapore to Japan or South Korea in Economy Class: 20 times
- Singapore to Australia or New Zealand in Business Class: 8 times
- Singapore to Europe in First Class: 4 times
- 4 round-the-world Business Class tickets on Singapore Airlines and its Star Alliance partners
- S$10,000 worth of Singapore Airlines tickets, using the cash + miles function
- S$8,000 worth of KrisShop merchandise, hotels, or rental cars (via vRooms)
You can also redeem KrisFlyer miles for unique experiences via the KrisFlyer Experiences platform, or convert them to Golden Circle points for stays at Shangri-La hotels (not the best use, IMHO).
Singapore Airlines recently brought back First Class space, and while the A380 may not fly for a while, it has committed to refitting all 12 of its remaining aircraft with the latest Suites and Business Class cabins. It stands to reason they see a future for this aircraft, so we just need to be patient.
A more realistic redemption opportunity in the near future is Business Class, and with 1,000,000 miles, you could travel to Australia (hopefully that travel bubble comes through) and back eight times.
Or hopefully Bali can make good on its July reopening target, and then you’ve got enough for 66 round-trip tickets in Economy Class. It’s enough to make you want to bring the extended family too.

American Express has just launched some new sign-up bonuses on both these cards, which are valid for applications and approvals between 1 April and 30 June 2021. Even if you don’t take home the million miles, you’ll still be eligible for these.

Conclusion
If you don’t already have an AMEX KrisFlyer card, I can think of few better opportunities to hop on board (and if you do have one, be sure to tell your friends and family!).

the million miles draw will be open to you. however, since you are an existing AMEX cardholder, you qualify for the “existing” gifts only under the sign up bonus.
