From 23-25 February 2022, Citibank is running a 72-hour flash deal for Citi PayAll. During this promotion, PayAll users who set up at least S$3,000 of payments can earn up to S$120 CapitaVouchers.
This flash deal can be stacked with Citi PayAll’s other ongoing promotions, namely:
- 2 mpd for Citi ULTIMA, Prestige, PremierMiles and Rewards cardholders who make at least S$3,000 of PayAll payments from 1 January to 31 March 2022
- S$50 GrabFood vouchers for first-time PayAll customers who make at least S$3,000 of payments by 31 March 2022.
For the sake of comparison, the previous flash sale in December 2021 only required a minimum payment of S$2,500, but the reward was less-flexible GrabFood vouchers.
Get up to S$120 CapitaLand vouchers with Citi PayAll
Citi PayAll Flash Sale |
Citi PayAll customers who set up at least S$3,000 of payments between 12 a.m on 23 February 2022 to 11.59 p.m on 25 February 2022 (with payment due date before 31 March 2022) will receive CapitaVouchers as follows:
Total Citi PayAll Payments | CapitaVouchers Vouchers |
S$3,000 to S$4,999 | S$30 |
S$5,000 to S$7,999 | S$50 |
S$8,000 and above | S$120 |
There is no restriction on the type of payment that can be made; all Citi PayAll transactions will count towards this promotion:

The “misc. payments” category is surprisingly broad. You could use PayAll to pay for wedding expenses, donations, renovations, even the nebulously defined “travel expenses” and “payment for retail good and services”. Most of these don’t even require supporting documentation; you can simply transfer funds to someone else’s bank account.
But before you rush off and pay your wife S$50,000 for love and affection, remember that such transactions may have income tax implications. In general any income exceeding S$20,000 is liable to tax, provided it’s deemed to be derived in the course of a trade.
Each customer is entitled to a maximum of one gift during the promotion period. This promotion is valid for the following Citi credit cards:
- Citi ULTIMA Card
- Citi Prestige Card
- Citi PremierMiles Card
- Citi Rewards Card
- Citi Lazada Card
- Citi Cash Back+ Card
- Citi Cash Back Card
At the risk of repeating myself, your payments must be set up during the promotion period (i.e. by 25 February 2022), so if you’ve already got payments in place, you’ll need to cancel and set them up again (but given the number of recent PayAll promotions, do make sure the cancellation doesn’t jeopardise your participation in another one!).
For the avoidance of doubt, you can combine multiple payments to meet the minimum spend. However, only the first payment of a recurring payment setup would count towards the calculation.
Citibank provides the following examples:
โ๏ธ Qualifies | ||
Payment | Frequency | Amount |
School Fees | One-time | S$500 |
Insurance | One-time | S$500 |
Rent | Recurring (12 months) | S$2,000 per month |
Verdict: This customer qualifies for S$30 CapitaVouchers as he has accumulated S$3,000 of PayAll payments. Only the first rental payment of S$2,000 will count towards the calculation of PayAll payments for the promotion. |
โ Does Not Qualify | ||
Payment | Frequency | Amount |
Insurance | Recurring (12 months) | S$2,000 per month |
Electricity Bill | One-time | S$250 |
Verdict: This customer does not qualify as he has only accumulated S$2,250 of PayAll payments. Only the first insurance payment of S$2,000 will count towards the calculation of PayAll payments for the promotion. |
Eligible customers will receive a notification via SMS/email with gift redemption details within 12 weeks from the end of the promotion period. Be advised that Citi has been slightly tardy with fulfilling gifts from previous flash sales, so it’s possible you may wait longer than the stipulated timeline.

Stack with other Citi PayAll offers
Citi PayAll ongoing offers |
This flash deal is offered on top of Citi PayAll’s other ongoing offers, as detailed below.
All customers: Earn 2 mpd on Citi PayAll
From 1 January to 31 March 2022, eligible Citi cardholders will earn a flat 2 mpd on up to S$90,000 of Citi PayAll transactions with a minimum spend of S$3,000. Both the payment setup and charge dates must fall within the promotion period.
The following cards are eligible:
Card | Earn Rate | Cost Per Mile @ 2% |
Citi ULTIMA | 2.0 mpd |
1 cent |
Citi Prestige | 2.0 mpd |
1 cent |
Citi PremierMiles | 2.0 mpd |
1 cent |
Citi Rewards | 2.0 mpd |
1 cent |
The Citi Lazada Card is also mentioned in the T&Cs, but that’s likely to be a vestigial leftover, since it’s not included in the illustration table |
Cardholders will receive their regular base rewards when the Citi PayAll transaction initially posts.
Bonus rewards will be credited within 12 weeks from the end of the promotion period, i.e. by 23 June 2022. The T&C of this offer can be found here.
New customers: Get S$50 in GrabFood vouchers
If you’ve never made a Citi PayAll transaction prior to 1 January 2022, you’ll receive S$50 in GrabFood vouchers when you make at least S$3,000 of Citi PayAll transactions by 31 March 2022.
This consists of 2 x S$25 promo codes, which will be sent within 12 weeks from the end of the promotion period, i.e. by 23 June 2022. The T&C of this offer can be found here.
Is it worth it?
If you have payments to make anyway, this flash deal helps to further offset your expenses.
To illustrate, someone who pays an insurance premium of S$5,000 would pay a fee of S$100 (2%) and receive:
- S$50 CapitaVouchers
- 10,000 miles (2 mpd offer)
- S$50 GrabFood vouchers, assuming it’s his/her first-ever PayAll transaction
Assuming you take those vouchers at face value (and yes, I understand that’s a bold assumption, especially for GrabFood), then you’ve already offset the PayAll fee. Even if you take a haircut on the value, you’re still buying miles at a very discounted price.
Remember, you’re not just buying KrisFlyer miles; Citibank points can be transferred to 10 different frequent flyer programs, including some with great sweet spots like Etihad Guest, British Airways Executive Club, and Turkish Miles&Smiles. Even the newly-revitalised Qatar Privilege Club might be a good bet, especially in light of the unexpected Avios announcement.

Conclusion
From 23-25 February 2022, Citi PayAll is offering up to S$120 CapitaVouchers on top of its other ongoing promotions, which represents a great opportunity to pay some bills.
Citi PayAll supports a wide variety of payments, including tax, insurance, rent, education, electricity bills, MCST fees, renovation bills and more, so everyone should be able to find some kind of payment to put on the platform.
I am using PayAll for my rental and since only the first payment is counted, can I just set up multiple “single payment” of rental instead?
i am also thinking of splitting my recurring payments into multiple single payments. will that still count towards the promotion ?
Hey Aaron, any idea if doing 2x payments to same account count towards the promotion given that only first payment is counted for recurring payments ?
Are you sure it stacks with 2 mpd promo? Doesnโt seem like it
Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid in conjunction with other promotions, discounts or vouchers.
All flash sales stack with ongoing promos.
I’ve maxed my CitiPayAll limit (which is 95% of credit card limit) for this month under 1Jan-31Mar 2mpd promotion. Any way to reset or increase the limit for this month? TIA.
i don’t suppose pre-paying your credit card would help, would it?
Already did that but doesn’t reset the CitiPayAll limit …….lol.
Sorry – my bad. Needed to wait 2 days for payment to clear then credit limit is reset. Worked fine after.
Would be good if they allow payment for car instalments!
This is an upgrade from grabfood.
I received $20 x 10 grabfood vouchers from the last promotion – didn’t use it for more than 5 times, suddenly the vouchers became fully redeemed despite expiry in Mar 2022. Informed both citibank and grab – no news ever after.
Hopefully can utilise all my miles this year and cancel all citi cards for good riddance.
I called them and they gave me a new code.
Hi did you call Citibank or Grab?
Hello,
There’s a 2% transaction fee, so I would not recommend transferring say, 8k to a spouse. In fact the CapitaMall vouchers can’t offset this 2%…
Overall, it’s a deal breaker for me (and I tried it personally – that’s how I found out.
I don’t see this transaction fee reflected on your review, and it’s also very opaque on Citibank’s website and app. (The actual percentage seems hidden)
Did you indicate this, and maybe I somehow missed it?
of course there is a fee charge else why would citibank do this for free ?
thats why there is a cost per mile of 1 cent at 2% fees as indicated above in the article.
Yeah thanks my bad I missed it in the last part. I had to re-read twice to see it. But to answer your question, on “why would Citibank do this for free?” I expected it to be free because its our first time hearing of PayAll. We thought this was like Citibank’s version of Paylah. I went to look at the Citibank PayAll website, and the fact that fees are levied are not indicated except in some very fine print. (I only found them later, on my third Google). Furthermore, early in the article, Mile lion suggests transferring 50k to… Read more »
Oh man…missed this by one day…had alr scheduled a payment on 22 Feb… and it’s alr charged to the card ๐ and that was my big ticket payment argh! sadness
Has anyone received the capital vouchers yet? I know citibank can be tardy. But wondering if it is just me in this case
