Accor has launched a new offer called Discover Asia Like Never Before, which is valid for stays at more than 350 participating hotels across Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and the Maldives.
Mastercard cardholders who book a minimum stay of two nights will enjoy 20% off. If they book with a DBS Mastercard, they’ll also receive 1,000 bonus ALL points (worth €20).
This is valid for stays booked by 5 November 2022 and completed by 31 December 2022.

I’ve poked around a few properties in Bangkok, Phuket and Bali, with mixed results. At the Pullman Bali Legian Beach, I found that the Mastercard offer priced out slightly cheaper than the Accor Plus rate while being refundable…
…but at other properties like the Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, Accor Plus members could get a refundable rate with breakfast for less than the room-only Mastercard rate.
Even if you’re not an Accor Plus member, the open-to-all Book with Confidence rate may be the best option, as was the case at the Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort.
Of course, a DBS cardholder planning to stay the minimum of two nights should consider whether the bonus 1,000 ALL points (€20) could make up for the difference in rates.
In general, however, I’d say that Accor Plus members should be able to find cheaper rates than under the Mastercard offer. You can purchase an Accor Plus membership from S$298, or enjoy it complimentary with any of the following credit cards:

- DBS Vantage Card
- UOB Visa Infinite Metal Card (offered as a sign-up gift for new customers, as opposed to a recurring benefit)
What DBS Mastercard should I use to pay?
If you’re looking to pay with a DBS Mastercard for the bonus ALL points, do note that the DBS Woman’s World Card will not earn 4 mpd if the rate is refundable. That’s because your card will not be charged online at the time of booking; all payment happens at the hotel itself. In that case, cardholders would earn 1.2 mpd assuming the transaction is processed in foreign currency.
Unfortunately, the DBS Altitude Cards only come in American Express and Visa, so you can’t take advantage of their 3 mpd on hotel transactions here either (not to mention those must be processed online too).
If you’re using a generic Mastercard, then your best bet would be the UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard (2.4 mpd) or the OCBC 90°N Mastercard (2.1 mpd).

Mastercard cardholders can enjoy 20% off the best flexible rate for two-night stays at more than 350 Accor properties across Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and the Maldives, provided they book by 5 November 2022 and stay by 31 December 2022.
