HSBC Cards sign-up offer: Get S$40 cash & S$150 cashback or 20,000 miles

Apply for a HSBC Revolution or HSBC TravelOne Card as a new-to-bank customer and get S$40 cash, on top of HSBC's regular sign-up gifts.

⚠️ Important Note
SingSaver has suspended the following offer from 18 Sept until further notice, so only the HSBC gifts will be applicable.

If you don’t have a HSBC credit card yet, here’s an opportunity worth noting.

SingSaver has upsized its sign-up gift for HSBC cards to S$40 cash (previously S$30), an offer which runs till 1 October 2023. This is further stackable with HSBC’s regular sign-up offers, namely S$150 cashback or a Samsonite luggage for the HSBC Revolution, and 20,000 miles for the HSBC TravelOne Card.

SingSaver gift: S$40 cash

Let’s start with the SingSaver gift, because it’s the same across all HSBC cards.

From 28 August to 1 October 2023, new-to-bank applicants for the following cards will receive S$40 cash from SingSaver.

Card Income Req. Annual Fee

❓ New-to-bank

New-to-bank cardholders are defined as those who:

  • Do not hold any principal HSBC credit card
  • Have not cancelled a principal HSBC credit card in the past 12 months prior to application

No minimum spend is required for this gift, but you must follow the steps below.

Application steps

  1. Apply via the links in this article
  2. Complete the SingSaver Rewards Redemption Form that is sent to your email, within the first 14 days of application. Ensure that the name, mobile number and email address submitted to SingSaver are the same as that used in the credit card application
  3. Provide HSBC with your consent to receive marketing and promotional materials, and do not revoke it before the gift is fulfilled
  4. Once you receive a card approval email from HSBC, forward it to info@singsaver.com.sg (from the same email you used to complete the Rewards Redemption Form in step 2)

HSBC gift

Since the HSBC Advance and HSBC Visa Platinum are cashback cards, and since only a complete and utter lamewad writes about cashback cards, I’m going to focus on the sign-up offers for the HSBC Revolution and HSBC TravelOne Card instead.

Once again, a reminder that you will only be eligible for the sign-up gifts if you consent to receive marketing or promotional materials from HSBC, and have not revoked that consent at the time of gift crediting.

Conclusion

If you’ve been holding off on applying for a HSBC card, now’s a good time to consider hopping onboard the Revolution train, and perhaps throwing in a TravelOne Card for the sign-up bonus, some extra lounge visits, and free points conversions.

Don’t forget to forward your card approval email to info@singsaver.com.sg to secure your S$40 cash gift, and meet the minimum spend for the HSBC sign-up gifts by the end of the month following approval.

Payment of annual fee for Travel 1 card should be much more prominent. This is less a sign up promotion and more of a buy miles opportunity, given most people’s expectations that non-high income cards should have at the very least 1st year free.

Elizabeth

I heard it can take very long up to few weeks for HSBC card to arrive. If apply in Aug for eg, and only have received somewhere in end Sep, do I only have till Oct to spend the required amount to be eligible for gifts? Or will there be digital card to be used so that we dont have to wait for the physical card to arrive?

jhg

I have planned spending on Courts but I suspect HSBC does not cover that. I checked from heymax.ai Courts MCC is 5712 which is not included in your table but you listed Courts as example. Could you help to confirm this? Thank you.
