Save 15% off IHG One Rewards hotel redemptions worldwide

IHG One Rewards has launched a new offer for award stays at hotels worldwide, which allows Diamond and Platinum Elite members to save 15% off the regular award costs. I’m presuming that a lot of you would have at least one of those statuses!

This is slightly less generous than the 20% off deal we saw back in January 2023, but still a good opportunity to save on an upcoming stay- provided you can travel within the next month.

Here’s the key details of IHG’s award night sale:

• No registration is required
• Stays must be booked by 16 September 2023 (I’m not sure what time zone they’re referring to here)
• Stays must be completed by 26 October 2023
• No minimum stay is necessary
• No cap on the maximum points you can save
• You can book as many awards as you wish 

The 15% discount will be automatically reflected at the time of booking. If you’re not seeing  availability, remember that your stay must be completed by 26 October 2023.

The discount can also be applied to Points & Cash bookings. Do note that only the points portion is discounted. 

Stays booked under this promotion can be changed or refunded, subject to the usual cancellation windows for award stays.

The main catch here is the limited booking and travel window; you’ll need to make your bookings by Saturday, and travel between now and 26 October 2023 to take advantage of the offer.

IHG gave its rewards programme a refresh last year, offering members new perks such as breakfast, lounge access, confirmed suite night upgrades, and reward night discounts for Diamond and Platinum Elites (which is what we’re seeing now).

Thanks to my purchase of an InterContinental Ambassador membership last year, I’ve managed to extend my Diamond status all the way till 31 December 2023. I’ve only managed to use the perks once so far (at the Kimpton Da An Taipei), but the experience was altogether great- a room upgrade, free breakfast and a welcome amenity of US$20 dining credit. 

Conclusion

IHG One Rewards is offering 15% off award nights at hotels worldwide to Diamond and Platinum Elite members, which is a good opportunity to save some points on an upcoming booking. There’s no minimum stay requirement, nor a cap on the maximum points you can save.

If you already have existing points bookings for this period, it’s worth seeing if you can cancel and rebook them, in order to take advantage of the discount.
