New HSBC credit card welcome offer: Get S$350 cash, Apple iPad, or Dyson hairdryer

Expired

From now till 8 December 2023, get a S$350 cash or a choice of gifts worth up to S$759 with a new HSBC credit card and a minimum spend of S$500.

SingSaver has launched a new promotion for HSBC credit cards, which runs from now till 8 December 2023.

New HSBC credit cardholders who apply during this period can choose from one of the following gifts when they spend at least S$500 by the end of the month following approval:

  • Dyson Supersonic hairdryer (worth S$699)
  • Apple iPad 9th Gen 10.2″ WiFi 64GB (worth S$503.65)
  • Sony Portable Theatre System HT-AX7 (worth S$759)
  • S$350 cash

Do note that unlike the previous HSBC x SingSaver offer, this does not stack with HSBC’s regular sign-up gifts (that’s why the SingSaver gifts this time are noticeably larger too).

In other words, you won’t be eligible for the S$150 cashback (Advance, Revolution, Visa Platinum) or 20,000 bonus miles (TravelOne) gifts advertised on the HSBC website if you apply via SingSaver under this promotion.

From 9 November to 8 December 2023, new HSBC credit cardholders who apply for any of the following products will be eligible for this offer:

โ“ New HSBC credit cardholders

New HSBC credit cardholders are defined as those who:

  • Do not hold any principal HSBC credit card (except the HSBC TravelOne Card or HSBC Visa Infinite)
  • Have not cancelled a principal HSBC credit card in the past 12 months prior to application (except the HSBC TravelOne Card or HSBC Visa Infinite)

In other words, someone who only holds a HSBC TravelOne Card and/or HSBC Visa Infinite will count as a new HSBC credit cardholder.

The S$194.40 annual fee must be paid if you choose the HSBC TravelOne Card. Do note that paying the annual fee does not entitle you to any bonus miles, so for this campaign I’d recommend applying for an Advance, Revolution or Visa Platinum instead where the annual fee need not be paid (or where there’s no annual fee, in the case of the Revolution).

Application steps

  1. Apply via the links in this article
  2. Complete the SingSaver Rewards Redemption Form that is sent to your email, within the first 14 days of application. Ensure that the name, mobile number and email address submitted to SingSaver are the same as that used in the credit card application
  3. Provide HSBC with your consent to receive marketing and promotional materials, and do not revoke it before the gift is fulfilled

Qualifying Spend

A minimum qualifying spend of S$500 must be made by the end of the calendar month after card approval. For example, cards opened on 15 December 2023 will have until 31 January 2024 to meet the qualifying spend.

This includes any retail transactions (whether online or offline), excluding the following:

  • Foreign exchange transactions (including but not limited to Forex.com);
  • Donations and payments to charitable, social organisations and religious organisations;
  • Quasi-cash transactions (including but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler’s checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets and gambling);
  • Payments made to financial institutions, securities brokerages or dealers (including but not limited to the trading of securities, investments or crypto-currencies of any kind);
  • Payments on money payments/transfers (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com, CardUp, SmoovPay, iPayMy);
  • Payments to any professional services provider (including but not limited to GOOGLE Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon Web Services, MEDIA TRAFFIC AGENCY INC);
  • Top-ups, money transfers or purchase of credits of prepaid cards, stored-value cards or e-wallets (including but not limited to EZ-Link, Transitlink, NETS Flashpay and Youtrip);
  • Payments in connection with any government institutions and/or services (including but not limited to court costs, fines, bail and bond payment);
  • Any AXS and ATM transactions;
  • Tax payments (including HSBC Tax Payment Facility);
  • Payments for cleaning, maintenance and janitorial services (including property management fees);
  • Payments to insurance companies (including but not limited to sales, underwriting, premiums and insurance services);
  • Payments to educational institutions;
  • Payments on utilities (Electric, Gas, Water, and Sanitary);
  • The monthly instalment amounts under the HSBC Spend Instalment;
  • Balance transfers, fund transfers, cash advances, finance charges, late charges, HSBCโ€™s Cash Instalment Plan, any fees charged by HSBC;
  • Any unposted, cancelled, disputed and refunded transactions

The key exclusions to note here are insurance, utilities, education, government transactions as well as CardUp/ipaymy. These were all excluded from 1 July 2020 onwards as part of HSBC’s revised rewards terms and conditions.

Gift Fulfilment

All gifts will be fulfilled within three months after the bank report is received confirming the completion of all promotional criteria.

Terms & Conditions

Conclusion

From now till 8 December 2023, SingSaver is offering a choice of gifts worth up to S$759 for new HSBC credit cardholders who apply for a card and meet a minimum spend of S$500.

If you don’t have a HSBC Revolution Card yet (see my review here), then this is a great opportunity to pick up some additional gifts in the process. Be sure to submit your applications before the deadline, and fill in the SingSaver redemption form.

Hi MileLion, When one applies for the card through SingSaver, the dashboard function once you login is so pathetic that it has no info on applied products, reward status, etc. Except for the initial email from SingSaver acknowledging submission of reward claim, there is no way for person to know whether one qualified for the promo (e.g. even for SingSaver promos like amongst first 10 applicants at 3 pm, etc) Frankly, point of dashboard presently is illogical if there is nothing in it. When Singsaver is shouting from rooftops abt Best Rate Guarantee, etc, what is the point if they… Read more »
