Back in June 2023, Singapore Airlines announced plans for a brand new SilverKris Lounge at Perth International Airport, occupying a new space vacated by the former Qantas Business Lounge.
The initial target was for an end-2023 opening, but construction delays pushed the timeline into 2024.
SIA has now unveiled the new lounge today, ahead of the resumption of four daily flights to and from Perth from 31 March 2024.
“The opening of the new SilverKris Lounge at Perth International Airport, together with the resumption of four daily flights from Perth to Singapore, is a significant milestone in our almost 60-year history in Perth, during which our operations have grown in tandem with the city.
“We are pleased to have been a steady contributor to Perth’s global connectivity over the years. The new lounge is a significant investment to ensure the ground experience matches the premium experience in the air, and testament to our confidence in Western Australia.”
-Louis Arul, SIA VP for Southwest Pacific
The new SilverKris Lounge boasts upgraded facilities and twice the capacity of the previous lounge, including previously-missing features like showers and productivity pods. It will cater to passengers on all of SIA’s Perth flights, as well as Star Alliance passengers with departure times within the lounge’s operating hours.
Details: New SilverKris Lounge in Perth
The new Perth SilverKris Lounge is located in the International Departure Terminal (T1), opposite Gate 52. This is a short walk from the previous lounge, which was located opposite Gate 54.Â
The lounge opens three hours before each of SIA’s four Perth flights, and closes 30 minutes before departure:
- 3.50 a.m to 6.20 a.m
- 10.50 a.m to 1.30 p.m (Tue, Wed, Fri & Sun till 30 March 2024; daily after)
- 2.30 p.m to 5.10 p.m
- 10.10 p.m to 12.50 a.m
A total of 135 passengers can be hosted in a space that is double the size of the previous facility. The lounge features SIA’s Home Away from Home design concept, as implemented by industrial design firm DP Architects (you can see their work around Singapore at the One Farrer Hotel and Wanderlust Hotel).
The furniture and design elements should be instantly familiar to anyone who has visited the SilverKris Lounge at Changi Terminal 3, with subtle batik motifs incorporated throughout the lounge amenities and furnishings.
The lounge has separate areas for working, relaxing and dining, with both bar counter seating and regular dining tables, plus a few booth seats recessed into an enclave.Â
Several productivity pods have been installed, offering a comfortable and private workspace to catch up on emails before a flight. These look to be the latest generation of SIA’s productivity pods, also seen in the Singapore lounge. USB and charging ports will be widely available.
Food & Beverage
The new SilverKris Lounge features a larger buffet area with a live cooking station. As with all outstation lounges, passengers can look forward to a mix of local and Singaporean favourites like carrot cake.
Another highlight is the full-service bar, where passengers can enjoy various cocktails made with a local twist, such as Old Young’s Pavlova Vodka.Â
From the publicity photos, it looks like Piper-Heidsieck Brut will be the champagne on pour, along with beers from Beerfarm, an independently-owned Australian brewery located in the Margaret River region.
Showers
The previous SilverKris Perth Lounge lacked showers, so it’s good to see that’s now been rectified. Each shower suite comes with a rain and hand shower, as well as toiletries from Penhaligon’s Quercus range.
Who gets access?
The SilverKris Lounge in Perth can be accessed by passengers departing on a Singapore Airlines or Star Alliance flight in:
- First Class (+1 guest)

- Solitaire PPS Club

Conclusion
Singapore Airlines has officially opened its new SilverKris Lounge in Perth, which caters to all of its flights from Western Australia’s capital. Passengers can look forward to more space and upgraded facilities, a far cry from the old and tired previous lounge which had been in service since December 2006.
If you’re visiting this lounge in the coming weeks or months, do let us know what the experience is like!
Small typo, but I think it’s Pavlova Vodka 🙂
i need to give up daytime drinking.
These are silly opening hours. I mean, don’t we go to the lounge to spend as little time in the plane as possible? And then they kick you out 30 mins early (it’s like 3 minutes to cross the entire terminal)?
Not a real foody, but they have 2 of my faves in there.. Beerfarm Hazy, and Hippie Kombucha Dragon Fruit.
Now, just need the gold status and a ticket out of P-town.
Think there’s a typo on the dates. Should be 2024 instead of 2023
yes, still living in last year!
if the new lounge in ICN is anything to go by, this one will be equally superb. I find this new lounge style much more light, airy and elegant, even when compared to the SIN based new lounges. These are nice, but are a bit dark, notably the First Class one. As a final note, by dark I do not mean lack of daylight, but use of dark tones and materials.
The attention to detail of finishes in the Perth lounge is top notch!
Earlier this month they started work to updating the London Heathrow SilverKris Lounge with the new Home Away from Home design concept. A consistent product throughout the customer’s journey is important – so glad to see they’re being efficient at rolling out the new new design language to outstations as quickly as possible.
