World of Hyatt offering 2X points for Asia Pacific, Africa, Europe & Middle East stays

World of Hyatt has announced the details of an upcoming 2X points promotion, which is valid for stays at 320+ participating hotels across Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and Africa. 

This runs concurrently with the ongoing 2X points offer for stays at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands, so there’s an offer to stack both for extra points.

From 7 October to 20 December 2024, World of Hyatt is offering double points on stays at 320+ participating Hyatt properties in Europe, Africa, the Middle East & Asia Pacific, starting from the second stay onwards.

Here’s the key details to note:

• Registration is required prior to your first eligible stay, and must be done by 4 November 2024
• Check-out dates must fall within the promotion period (7 October to 20 December 2024) in order to be eligible
• Award stays will not earn any points in and of themselves, though you can still earn double points on incidental spending like F&B and spa treatments
• A maximum of 20,000 World of Hyatt bonus points can be earned, which is equivalent to US$4,000 gross spend
• Bonus points will be credited within three weeks after checking out

Bonuses will only apply to the room the member occupies during the promotion period, so take note if you plan to book multiple rooms. As always, this promotion is valid for stays booked via the official Hyatt website or app; stays made through third parties like Hotels.com will not be eligible. 

Here’s how many points World of Hyatt members will earn with this promotion. Remember, only the base points are doubled, not the elite points.

I value World of Hyatt points at about 1.7 US cents each, so base-tier members effectively earn a rebate of about 17% under this promotion- not bad, assuming you don’t have plans to stay in the Americas. 

What’s annoying is the “hurdle” of the first stay, because no matter how long that one is, you won’t earn any bonuses on it. If you have numerous long stays coming up, it may make sense to do a cheap one-night stay first to clear the hurdle, thereby earning bonuses on the rest of your nights.

As a reminder, the first stay must also be at a participating hotel, even though it won’t earn any bonuses!

As a reminder, this promotion will overlap with a separate 2X points offer for stays at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House completed between 9 July to 15 October 2024.

• Registration is required prior to completion of first stay, and by latest 15 September 2024
• Check-out dates must fall within the promotion period (9 July to 15 October 2024) in order to be eligible
• Award stays will not earn any points in and of themselves, though you can still earn double points on incidental spending like F&B and spa treatments
• A maximum of 25,000 bonus points can be earned, equivalent to US$5,000 of gross spending
• Bonus points will post within 2-3 weeks after check-out

There’s a total of 12 Hyatt House and 35 Hyatt Place properties participating, so a member who registers for both promotions would earn between 15-16.5 points per US$1, depending on tier (basically an extra 5 points per US$1).

World of Hyatt fast track offer

World of Hyatt is running a year-long fast track offer for employees of selected MNCs, which grants them instant World of Hyatt Explorist status for a 90-day period, bypassing the usual 30 night requirement.

During this period:

• members who stay 10 qualifying nights will retain Explorist status until February 2026
• members who stay 20 qualifying nights will be upgraded to Globalist status until February 2026

Qualifying nights include both points and cash stays, at Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide of Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties.

You’ll need to register by 31 December 2024, but the sooner you complete the challenge the better, since the status expiry date is fixed at February 2026 regardless.

This offer is open to employees of an unspecified list of companies. You can always try your luck by entering your membership number and company email. Known successes include Apple, Ernst & Young, Google, IBM, PWC, Linkedin, Microsoft and Netflix.
