The UOB PRVI Miles Card has long been one of the better general spending cards on the market, and UOB is now enhancing it even further by adding an uncapped 3 mpd on FCY spend in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as four complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits per year.
These new benefits take effect immediately, and are valid for both new and existing UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders.
In addition to this, the welcome offer has also been revised and now offers 46,000 bonus miles, though the minimum spend has been doubled compared to the previous offer.
Earn up to 3 mpd on FCY spend
All UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders now earn 3 mpd for transactions made in the following currencies:
- ๐ฎ๐ฉ Indonesia Rupiah (IDR)
- ๐ฒ๐พ Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
- ๐น๐ญ Thai Baht (THB)
- ๐ป๐ณ Vietnamese Dong (VND)
This applies to both online and in-person spend. No minimum spend is required, and there is no cap on the maximum miles that can be earned.
All other FCY transactions will continue to earn 2.4 mpd as before, with no minimum spend required and no cap on the maximum miles that can be earned.
Given the 3.25% FCY fee, the cost of using your card overseas has been reduced from 1.35 cents to 1.08 cents per mile, at least where these four currencies are concerned.
Earn Rate | FCY Fee | Cost Per Mile |
3 mpd | 3.25% | 1.08ยข |
2.4 mpd | 3.25% | 1.35ยข |
Moreover, an uncapped 3 mpd earn rate would be among the best in the market, especially considering the fact that no minimum spend is necessary.

Four complimentary lounge visits
Lounge Benefit Registration |
Principal UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders now enjoy 4x complimentary airport lounge visits per calendar year, via Priority Pass.
To enjoy this benefit, simply visit this link to register for your membership. After this, you can access lounges either via the Priority Pass app, or by presenting your physical UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard or Visa at the lounge (AMEX cardholders must use the app). If you’re using your physical card, access is available as soon as 12 hours after registration, which is a nice touch.
Lounge entitlements cannot be used by guests, who will be charged at US$35 per visit.
Do note that the visits are allocated per calendar year, which means that you can enjoy eight visits in your first membership year. For example, if my UOB PRVI Miles Card is approved in October 2024:
- Upon approval, I receive 4x lounge visits to be used by 31 December 2024
- On 1 January 2025, I receive another 4x lounge visits to be used by 31 December 2025
Also note that if you hold multiple UOB PRVI Miles Cards (e.g. UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard and UOB PRVI Miles Visa), your free visits are still capped at four per year overall.
Per the FAQs:
I have registered two (2) principal PRVI Miles Cards and it shows that I have 8 complimentary lounge visits per year? If you register using two2) principal PRVI Miles Cards, you will have two (2) Priority Passโข Memberships and each membership will show four (4) complimentary airport lounge visits per principal Card. However, please note that each Principal UOB PRVI Miles Cardmember is entitled to only four (4) complimentary airport lounge visits per calendar year, regardless of whether he or she has more than one (1) Principal PRVI Miles Card. As such, the Bank will charge the Cardmember US$35 per person per visit (or at the prevailing rate) if he or she uses in excess of the four (4) complimentary airport lounge visits per calendar year. |
In other words, having multiple PRVI Miles Cards does not boost your overall entitlement.
Four complimentary lounge visits is very competitive for an entry-level credit card, especially considering the fact that the AMEX KrisFlyer Ascend will remove its allowance from 1 November 2024.

New-to-bank customers who apply and receive approval for a UOB PRVI Miles Card between 9-31 October 2024 will enjoy 46,000 bonus miles, broken down as follows:
- 20,000 bonus miles for paying the first year’s S$261.60 annual fee
- 26,000 bonus miles for spending at least S$2,000 per month for two consecutive months from card approval date
โ New-to-bank |
New-to-bank customers are defined as those who:
|
For example, if your card is approved on 10 October 2024, you need to spend according to the following timeline:
- Spend at least S$2,000: 10 Oct 2024 to 9 Nov 2024
- Spend at least S$2,000: 10 Nov 2024 to 9 Dec 2024
Do note that the UOB website markets this offer as “up to 58,000 miles”, on the assumption that the entire S$4,000 minimum spend is clocked on FCY spend in IDR, MYR, THB or VND (S$4,000 @ 3 mpd). If you instead meet the minimum spend in SGD, your total return will be 51,600 miles (S$4,000 @ 1.4 mpd).
Since the first-year annual fee is waived by default, cardholders must opt in by sending the following SMS to 77862 by 30 November 2024.

The T&Cs of this welcome offer can be found here.
For comparison, the previous welcome offer was 45,200 bonus miles for spending at least S$1,000 per month for two consecutive months from card approval date, so this is a bit of a nerf in that sense (though UOB kept extending the previous welcome offer so you had ample opportunity to partake!).
I will be covering this welcome bonus in more detail in a separate article, so stay tuned for that.
Conclusion
The UOB PRVI Miles Card has been enhanced to offer 3 mpd on online and offline FCY spend in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as four complimentary lounge visits per calendar year.
These changes, in my opinion, reinforce it as one of the best general spending cards on the market- provided you don’t mind the usual UOB shenanigans. Don’t forget that UOB PRVI Miles AMEX cardholders also enjoy one of the best airport limo entitlements on the market, with a minimum FCY spend of S$1,000 per quarter unlocking two rides.
What do you make of these enhancements to the UOB PRVI Miles Card?
Better than nothing but itโs a bummer with only 4 whitelisted countries.
Should have just made it 4mpd – and then raised the bar against all the other banks. Few will likely use this until 2025, because in November and December you can get 5mpd with DBS.
Suddenly become a decent card for me to replace UOB Krisflyer unlimited 3mpd.
I can use this during regular biz trip in Indonesia and Thailand.
which is better value, dbs altitude promo or uob prvi card, for new to bank?
what happens if you already have an existing Priority Pass membership (with Citi PremierMiles) then will it stack? or how will it work?
In one word, ‘yes’, lounge entitlements stack up. However, you need to log into a different Priority Pass account for each membership. It gets tricky when you travel with guests, because then you should first use up all the limited entries (one for you and one for each guest) before using an unlimited entry card. What I tried to do is to use limited entries for guests and then unlimited entry for myself (plus 1 guest, like Citi Prestige) in the same lounge but I was turned down because the system would not allow the scanning of several Priority Pass… Read more »
If I’m a new user, which card should I go for, Visa, MC or Amex?
