Maybank has launched a new spend and redeem promotion, offering cardholders Bold or Samsonite-branded luggage based on their total spend on dining, shopping, travel, and foreign currency (FCY) transactions over the next two months.
While the luggage is only available in limited quantities, this gift is in addition to the usual rewards — and you’ll probably be using Maybank cards for FCY spending anyway, given their excellent earn rates.

Each cardmember is capped at a maximum of one gift for this campaign, based on the highest spend tier met. The qualifying spend can be made across one or more transactions, and across one or more Maybank cards. For example, you could spend S$1,000 on the Maybank XL Rewards Card, and S$2,500 on the Maybank Horizon Visa Signature.
Registration is required, and can be done via the TREATS SG app. You must also enable notifications for TREATS SG app to be eligible.

What counts as qualifying spend?
Here’s a great example of why the Oxford comma is useful.
Maybank’s description — “unlock rewards with your Maybank Card when you dine, shop, book your travels and spend in foreign currencies” — gives the impression that all qualifying spending must be in FCY.
That’s not the case, fortunately. What they actually mean is dine, shop, book your travels, and spend in foreign currencies. In other words, qualifying spend includes local dining, shopping and travel transactions, as well as all foreign currency spend.
| Category | MCCs | Description |
| Dine | 5441, 5451, 5462, 5811, 5812, 5813, 5814 | Bakeries, Caterers, Dairy Products Stores, Fast Food Eateries, Restaurant Dining |

Supplementary cardholder spending will be pooled with principal cardholders spending for the purposes of calculating qualifying spend.
What card should you use?
Maybank offers some excellent cards for FCY spending, with the Maybank World Mastercard, Maybank Visa Infinite and Maybank Horizon Visa Signature earning an uncapped 2.8 to 3.2 mpd. Alternatively, the Maybank XL Rewards Card earns 4 mpd, though this is capped at S$1,000 per month.

The Maybank Horizon Visa Signature also earns 2.8 mpd on up to S$10,000 of air ticket purchases each month, which is another potential source of spending for this promotion. You could earn 4 mpd on air tickets with other cards, but usually with a cap of S$1,000 per month.
The Maybank XL Rewards Card earns 4 mpd on air tickets hotels, tour agencies, dining and shopping, though this bonus cap is shared with FCY spending.

How does this interact with the KLIA VIP Express offer?
Maybank is also running another spend and redeem promotion from 1 August to 31 December 2026 for KLIA VIP Express passes which combine a train ticket with a private limousine transfer to your final destination.
This service normally retails for MYR155 (~S$49), and each cardholder can redeem up to four free services during the promotion period.

- Spending at least S$3,000 in a calendar month unlocks one limo ride and two KLIA Express tickets
This offer doesn’t have a redemption cap, so if you meet the minimum spend, you’ll get the gift.
However, Maybank has clarified that the qualifying spend for the luggage offer does not count towards the qualifying spend for the KLIA Express VIP offer. Here’s the relevant section from the T&Cs.

5.2 In the event that you have successfully registered for both this Promotion and the Maybank Complimentary KLIA VIP Ekspres VIP Service Promotion (“Maybank KLIA VIP Promotion”) (regardless of which promotion you registered for first) and have met the applicable minimum qualifying spend requirement for each of the promotions, you may be eligible to participate in both promotions, provided that:

Conclusion
Maybank’s latest spend and redeem promotion allows cardholders to redeem Bold or Samsonite luggage when they meet a minimum qualifying spend of S$3,500, S$5,500 or S$18,500 by 31 October 2026.
A limited number of redemptions are available, but given that it’s early in the month, you should stand a pretty good chance if you hit the minimum spend quickly. Anyway, it’s not like this requires you to divert spending from other cards, since Maybank cards should be one of your top choices for FCY spending — especially the sort of big-ticket FCY spending that this promotion requires.
