When Visa refreshed Visa Infinite and launched its new Visa Infinite Privilege and Visa Infinite Private tiers earlier this year, it also announced a host of new benefits, including a partnership with the Banyan Group, owner of hospitality brands such as Angsana, Banyan Tree, Cassia, and Dhawa.
Under the partnership, Visa Infinite cardholders enjoy a fast-track to withBanyan elite status, plus a complimentary night at selected hotels.
What’s great about the free night is that it’s really a free night. This isn’t one of those “buy one get one” faux deals; there’s no minimum paid stay requirement or other hoops to jump through. This is a free night, plain and simple.
Of course, a limited number of bookings are available, but I’ve received reports that free nights can still be redeemed as recently as this week. How long more that continues is anyone’s guess, but if you act fast, you might get lucky.

Visa Infinite cardholders receive Explorer status after completing two nights. Visa Infinite Privilege and Private cardholders receive Voyager status instantly.
Here’s an overview of the privileges available at each tier of membership.
To be honest, the benefits seem very mediocre, at least on paper. The only incremental perk that Explorer offers over the entry-level Wanderer is a one-time room upgrade (that’s one-time, not one category).
Voyager offers two room upgrades and late check-out, though the website isn’t clear whether this is guaranteed or subject to availability. Notably, none of the tiers offer complimentary breakfast, which is arguably the most important status benefit.
Complimentary hotel night
Visa cardholders are eligible for a complimentary one-night stay at participating Banyan Group properties.
- Stays are valid for two adults
- No minimum paid night requirement
- Advance booking of at least seven working days is required
- Must book and stay by 31 December 2027
The number of free stays is capped at 1,000 redemptions for Visa Infinite, and 500 redemptions for Visa Infinite Privilege & Private.

For obvious reasons, the calibre of properties available to Visa Infinite Privilege/Private customers is a cut above Visa Infinite. While the former is full of Banyan Tree properties, the latter is mostly Angsana, Cassia and HOMM, the group’s budget-friendly brands. If you ever needed a reminder that Visa Infinite is now mass affluent, this is it!
What’s also nice is that bookings are not always for entry-level rooms. At the Dhawa Yura Kyoto, the Visa free night books into the Superior Room category, while suites are offered at some of the Vietnam properties.
How to redeem the free hotel night
To redeem your free hotel night, you’ll need to do the following:
- Create a withBanyan account
- Register for the fast-track via the links below and provide your withBanyan membership number and the email linked to the account:
- Wait for an email from Visa confirming that your registration has been processed
- Once the email arrives, you should be able to find the voucher in your withBanyan account
- Visit this page and fill out this reservation form
- Wait for the Banyan reservations team to contact you via phone to collect your card details
The whole process is very manual, and it seems odd to be collecting card details and expiry dates over the phone, in this age of scams. But that’s the system they’ve built, and if you want your free night, you have to play along.
Are free stays still available? Well, I can’t promise you’ll get one, but I’ve received data points from readers who managed to make their redemptions this week, almost 1.5 months after the offer launched.
I guess this kind of flew under the radar for most people — especially because the way the Visa website initially phrased the benefit made it seem as if you had to stay two nights before a voucher was granted.
