IHG One Rewards has announced the details of its next global promotion, which will cover stays during the last quarter of 2026. With this offer, registered members will earn 2-3X points on all stays, from the second stay onwards.

While the hurdle requirement is annoying, this promotion still offers an incremental rebate of 10%. If nothing else, it’s a lot more compelling than what Hilton has just rolled out…

Earn up to 3X points on IHG One Rewards bookings

With IHG One Rewards’ upcoming global promo, registered members will earn 2X points for all stays, starting from the second stay. If the stay is booked through the IHG app, it will earn 3X points instead for all stays, also from the second stay.

Making a booking via the app isn’t particularly onerous, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be earning 3X.

However, it’s worth noting that cashback portals like ShopBack only offer rewards for booking through the IHG website, so there’s some opportunity cost involved (ShopBack is currently offering 1.5% cashback on IHG stays).

Here are the key details of the offer:

• Stays must be between 1 October and 31 December 2026
• The bonus kicks in from the second stay, with no minimum number of nights required for each stay
• All registrations must be completed prior to an eligible stay
• All paid nights booked directly through IHG qualify for this promotion, with a minimum nightly rate of US$30
• Award nights do not qualify for this promotion
• There is no cap on the bonus points that can be earned
• Bonus points will post within six weeks of an eligible stay

Remember, the bonus only kicks in from the second stay, so if your next IHG stay is going to be a long one, it might be worth doing a cheap one-night stay somewhere to clear the hurdle first.
