Singapore Airlines is slowly unveiling enhancements to its soft product, as it builds towards the highly anticipated reveal of its next-generation cabin products in early November 2026.
Over the past few weeks, it’s announced more than 100 new and refreshed dishes across all cabins, new Christofle serviceware in Suites, First and Business Class, and new amenity kits by Sisley and BYREDO. Business Class passengers will also receive sleeper suits for the first time.
Now, the airline has unveiled a refreshed First Class ground experience at Changi Airport, which features a personal concierge, buggy service, priority security screening, and an enhanced dining experience in the lounge.

I’ve actually covered several of these upgrades previously, namely priority screening, concierge and buggy service, when they were still at the trial stage and spotted by members of The MileLion community.
In that sense, it’s not completely new, though this announcement does formalise the offerings and package them into a cohesive end-to-end experience. Besides, there’s also the interesting detail that the First Class SilverKris Lounge will soon introduce full-service dining, with proper menus and table service.
Singapore Airlines unveils First Class ground experience
Singapore Airlines has published a video and article outlining the new First Class ground experience, which aims to create a seamless transition from kerbside to take-off.
Both focus on the experience at Terminal 3, though a similar setup will be available to passengers flying from Terminal 2 as well (First Class service from T2 is limited to Jakarta and Tokyo Haneda).

On arrival at Changi Airport, Suites and First Class passengers are greeted at the private driveway of the First Class reception (T3), or at the kerbside (T2). A team of porters will help to unload and check their luggage, while passengers are escorted to the check-in area to handle the formalities.
This is largely the same as before, though a chilled towel service is now offered. A small thing, yes, but nice!

Passengers departing from T3 will proceed through a dedicated immigration lane, before making their way to the lounge.

Now, here’s where the video gets a little confusing. If you were actually travelling in First Class, you would have access to The Private Room. However, the scenes in the video are shot entirely within the First Class SilverKris Lounge. This, of course, is also open to Suites and First Class passengers, but is usually the preserve of Solitaire PPS Club members, or First Class passengers on Star Alliance partners.
But my guess is they chose this setting to highlight the enhanced dining experience. From 28 October 2026, the First Class SilverKris Lounge will introduce full-service dining alongside the existing buffet line. This will be complemented by staff trained in mixology and barista skills to provide a more personalised dining and beverage experience.
Doesn’t this lounge already offer table service? Yes and no.
The current buffet setup has an a la carte section, where you can approach the counter to choose from a selection of made-to-order items, which are then sent to your table. And of course, the friendly staff are more than happy to take ad-hoc orders from your seat, should you want a top-up of your drink, or an additional order of something.

But it seems that this full-service dining will be more of a formal approach, where tables have assigned waitstaff and proper menus. Ordering at the table is a nice touch, as true table service was previously limited to The Private Room only, though I do wonder how they’ll be able to handle this during the morning and evening peak hours.

The First Class SilverKris Lounge will also get refreshed bread and live stations, as well as gluten-free bread and desserts.
As an aside, there will be some enhancements to the dining experience at Singapore Airlines’ Business Class SilverKris Lounge and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge:
- A refreshed a la carte menu featuring new dishes and child-friendly meals, inspired by Singapore’s renowned culinary diversity
- A reorganised buffet spread in the Business Class SilverKris Lounge
The article also mentions extended bar and barista hours, from 5 a.m to 2 a.m daily. This was actually implemented earlier this year in May, and not a moment too soon if you ask me. If there’s one place on earth where the “five o’clock somewhere” rule applies, it should be an international airport!
When the time comes to board, Suites and First Class passengers may enjoy complimentary buggy transfers to the departure gates. Singapore Airlines has been careful to caveat that the buggy service is “subject to availability”, and based on reports I’ve received, it can be difficult to secure one during peak hours.

Suites and First Class passengers (and Solitaire PPS Club members) departing from gates A1 to A5 at Changi Airport Terminal 3 may use the Premium Security Screening Lane for priority screening. This is available daily from 8.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m, and 9 p.m to 1 a.m.
This idea was previously trialled in May this year, though it has yet to be expanded to the B cluster gates (B1-B4), or the third set of cluster gates at Terminal 3 (A16-A20).

Passengers departing from other gates will also receive dedicated assistance to help them through security clearance.
Priority screening lanes are arguably unnecessary throughout most of Changi Airport, where (Terminal 4 aside) all security screening is done at the gates. This decentralised arrangement naturally limits queue sizes because only passengers on that specific flight are processed. If you’re at a pier gate, the incremental benefit might be negligible, especially if you hang around the lounge as long as possible and board last.
Still, bottlenecks can be encountered at the cluster gates, so the priority lane will be a welcome addition. And even if you’re at a pier gate, I’m sure it’s always nice to be whisked to the front of the queue.
Transiting and arriving First Class customers will also be able to enjoy the lounge and concierge services. If their journey terminates in Singapore, they will receive an escort to baggage claim and assistance with ground transport.
Conclusion
Singapore Airlines has unveiled its new First Class ground experience at Changi Airport, which formalises many of the initiatives it had been trialling since earlier this year.
The most interesting change is full-service dining at the First Class SilverKris Lounge from 28 October 2026, with menus and table service complementing the buffet. I’m curious to see how well this scales during the morning and late-night rushes, when the lounge is at its busiest.
If you’re flying out of Changi Airport soon, be sure to report back on the experience!
What changes will come to The Private Room? This First Class lounge upgrade seems more for PPS Solitaire and First class passengers from other Star Alliance airlines IMHO. But this upgrade would be great for T2 though.
