Last month, Milelion readers were able to sign up for a complimentary Club 1 Hotels membership and take part in a US$200 gift card giveaway.
Well, good news: the complimentary Club 1 Hotels membership (usual price: US$129/year) has been extended for October. In addition to this, members can get 10% off any booking made in October(your stay can be after October) by entering the codeย TM10ย at checkout.ย

I’ve illustrated in my previous article how Club 1 membership can get you some pretty great hotel rates (~23% off Banyan Tree Bintan, 17% off the Conrad Koh Samui and 17% off the LaLit London were some of the highlights), but in this post I want to talk about using Club 1 to book that white whale of hotel stays- the Aman Resorts.
Using Club 1 rates for Aman Resorts
I’ve been wanting to plan an anniversary getaway for my parents early next year and thought it might be fun to introduce them to the over-the-top luxury that is Aman Resortsย (I’ve never stayed in one before, but those who have can’t seem to shut up about how awesome it is).
Aman doesn’t have a loyalty program so you really lose nothing by booking through a 3rd party like Club 1. I was exploring the options within South East Asia, and found that theย Amandari in Bali and Amanwana in Moyo Island (just east of Bali) are both bookable on Club 1.
Amandari
The Amandari is located among the rice paddies in Ubud and has outstanding reviews. The property only has 30 suites, each with a private garden courtyard, some with private pools. Guests have access to a tennis court, gym, yoga classes, library, 32 meter swimming pool and a spa, while enjoying activities like mountain biking, cooking classes, white water rafting and elephant trekking.
My parents’ mountain biking days are probably behind them, in any case here’s how the cheapest rate for Amandari on Club 1 compares with the rate on the official website. Both rates come with breakfast and a 7 day cancellation policy.
As you can see, I’m saving about 12% by booking through Club 1, thanks to the TM10 promo code. Don’t get me wrong, US$1,856 is still a heck of a lot of money to pay for 3 nights, but hey, parents are worth it.
Amanwana
The Amanwana is located on Moyo Island, a 65 minute seaplane flight from DPS airport, or a 45 minute boat and drive fromย SWQ airport.
All 20 rooms in this property are Ocean or Jungle tents- luxury tents, to be precise. Despite the name, you’re not going to be roughing it- each air-conditioned tent has hard wood flooring, a waterproof exterior and all the usual creature comforts.
The design philosophy behind the resort is to blend into nature- the island is after all a protected deer sanctuary for the indigenous Rusa deer.ย To that end, most of the facilities are open-air, with campfire dinners on the beach and starlight cruises available on request. Guests can enjoy snorkeling, windsurfing or kayaking, take a dip in the freshwater dipping pool or visit the (also open-air) Jungle Cover spa.
Here’s how the official website compares to Club 1 rates:
The Club 1 rate comes in slightly cheaper by 9% again, thanks to the TM10 code.ย The only wild card here for me is whether the Club 1 rate is full board (because the rate on the official site is). I know it says “room only” in the Club 1 screenshot, but based on what I’ve seen on other sites like Mr & Mrs Smith and ScottDunn, it seems that all third party rates are full board too. It could be an issue with the Club 1 site, but in any case I’ll probably get that checked out with their customer service team.
Conclusion
Even if you aren’t planning to book an uberluxe resort like Aman, there are still many good value deals to be had at cheaper properties with Club 1. You’ll find more than 870,000 mid-priced to luxe chains and independent properties on the platform.
If you find the rate on the official site to be cheaper than Club 1, you can file a BRG claim with customer service (no existing booking is needed, just screenshots) and they’ll beat the competing rate by
- $10 per night guaranteed savings at 3-star hotels up to $40
- $20 per night guaranteed savings at 4-star hotels up to $50
- $25 per night guaranteed savings at 5-star hotels up to $100
Bookings made on Club 1 code as foreign currency hotel spending, so you can use:
- BOC World Elite Mastercard for 5 mpd
- DBS Woman’s World Card for 4 mpd on the first S$2K per month
- UOB Visa Signature for 4 mpd on the first S$2K per statement period, min S$1K spend

Indeed Aman provide a very different and splendid experience, not found elsewhere. Having stayed at the Aman Bali properties, their service is top notch. Great idea to bring your parents there.. (staying at Dari can provide you with some sightings if you’re lucky)
Sending, not bringing! Haha, it’s an anniversary trip after all
Recommend the bicycle tour around their field. (some spectacular sight)
