Star Alliance Run: Win Business Class tickets & other travel prizes; support Singapore’s healthcare workers

Join the Star Alliance Run on 9 October to support Singapore's healthcare heroes. Win air tickets, hotel stays and dining vouchers, just by crossing the finish line!

The following post is sponsored by Star Alliance. The opinions remain those of The MileLion.

Star Alliance celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, it’s organising the first-ever Star Alliance Run, a charitable initiative to support healthcare workers involved in the fight against COVID-19.

The Star Alliance Run will take place on Sunday, 9 October 2022. Proceeds will be channelled by Community Chest towards supporting front line healthcare workers involved in the fight against COVID through The Courage Fund and the Healthcare Humanity Awards. Participants also have the option of making a further donation during the registration process, 100% of which will go to the beneficiaries.

Unlike most runs where the prizes go to the swiftest, the Star Alliance Run is all about getting there together. In that spirit, every eligible participant (aged 18 and above) who finishes the race stands a chance to win premium travel and hospitality prizes, such as:

  • Return Business Class tickets to the USA, UK, Japan and many other destinations in the Star Alliance network
  • 5-Star hotel stays at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay and Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore
  • S$500 dining vouchers for Marina Bay Sands
  • GHA Titanium status and $1,000 DISCOVERY dollars

Here’s how it works.

Star Alliance Run: Details

Register Here

The Star Alliance Run (I can’t believe they missed the opportunity to call it a ‘Mileage Run’!) is open for registration from now till Tuesday, 27 September 2022, at 2359 hours.

There are two categories to participate in:

🏃‍♂️ Star Alliance Run: Categories
Category Starting Time Reg. Fee
5km run Sunday 9 October 2022, 0900 hours S$55
10km run Sunday 9 October 2022, 0800 hours S$75

Participants can only sign up for one category. The run is open to participants aged five and above, but runners under 21 years will need a parent or guardian’s consent.

All participants must be fully vaccinated, or have recovered from COVID-19 within the last 180 days, or be certified as medically ineligible for all COVID-19 vaccines under the National Vaccination Programme.

Included with the registration fee is a tote bag with a Star Alliance runner’s tank top, tote bag, water bottle and running bib- quite a nice collectible for avgeeks!

Star Alliance Run 2022 runner’s pack

The runner’s pack can be collected in person at Courtyard by Marriott Novena Hotel, Level 22, 99 Irrawaddy Road Singapore 329568 during the following time slots:

  • Saturday, 1 October 2022 (1100 to 1800 hours)
  • Sunday, 2 October 2022 (0800 to 1100 hours)

The Star Alliance Run starts and finishes from OCBC Square, with the 5km route looping back around Gardens by the Bay East, and the 10km route looping back near the ArtScience museum.

Star Alliance Run 2022 route map

To help runners prepare, Star Alliance has organised a pre-event Runner’s Masterclass on Saturday, 17 September 2022, open for registration on a first-come-first-serve basis.

During this session, an exercise physiologist and sports surgeon will help you improve your running performance by building core strength, correcting your form, assessing your shoe fit, and more. You’ll be able to take a treadmill running analysis to determine your running economy and gait, which will then determine your running style and how to optimise performance.

Star Alliance Run: Prizes

Every participant who finishes the race (and is 18 years or older, in accordance with Singapore laws) will be entered into the post-run lucky draw, where the following prizes can be won.

5km category prizes
