Marriott Bonvoy’s last global promotion ended on 15 December 2022, and while it hasn’t been running back-to-back offers like Hilton, the new one is well worth paying attention to.
Marriott’s first global promotion for 2023 offers members 2x elite nights and 1,000 bonus points for every night stayed between 7 February to 23 April 2023. There’s no cap on the bonuses you can earn, and this effectively cuts the qualification for Platinum (with its free breakfast and lounge access) to just 25 nights.
Marriott Bonvoy’s latest global promo
Register Here |
Registration is now open for Marriott Bonvoy’s latest global promotion. Registered members will earn:
- 2x elite nights for every night stayed
- 1,000 bonus points for every night stayed
This is valid for stays from 7 February to 23 April 2023. Stays booked before registration will qualify; all that matters is your check-in date.
Do note the following:
- Registration is required prior to the first eligible stay, and closes on 9 April 2023
- Award stays, Free Night Awards and Cash + Points Awards don’t count towards this promotion
- Bonus points will post within seven business days of check-out
- No minimum length of stay is required to earn the bonus points
All Marriott Bonvoy hotels around the world are participating, and there is no cap on the maximum number of bonus points or elite nights you can earn (well, the promo period is 75 nights, so I suppose you’re capped in that sense).
One quick point to highlight: I’m currently having difficulty registering for this promotion, as I keep getting sent to an error page. However, the T&Cs do not indicate that this is a targeted offer, and based on what I’m reading this is indeed the new global offer. OMAAT advises the following:
Note that if youโre having trouble registering for the promotion, just be patient, as this is the publicly available global promotion. Sometimes it can take a few days until all members are eligible to register, and thatโs pretty normal
Is this promotion worth it?
1 Marriott Bonvoy point is worth about 0.7 US cents, so 1,000 bonus points is equal to earning an extra ~US$7 per stay. That’s rather ho hum, but the real attraction isn’t the points- it’s the bonus elite nights.
In Singapore, we don’t get the easy elite nights that Marriott cobrand cardholders enjoy in the USA (an instant 25 elite nights with the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant, goodness me). We’ve got to earn those the hard way through stays, and 2X elite nights would cut the effort dramatically.
๐จ Marriott Bonvoy Elite Qualifying Criteria | |
Tier | Nights Required (Per Calendar Year) |
Silver Elite | 10 elite nights |
Gold Elite | 25 elite nights |
Platinum Elite | 50 elite nights |
Titanium Elite | 75 elite nights |
Ambassador Elite | 100 elite + US$23,000 spend |
By staying 25 nights during the promo period, you’d qualify for Platinum status, which offers suites upgrades, complimentary breakfast, lounge access, and guaranteed 4 p.m check-out.
It’s curious that Marriott is offering 2x elite nights and reinstating soft landings for 2023 (after previously announcing it wouldn’t). Perhaps they’ve underestimated the number of elites dropping off the roster?
Conclusion
Marriott Bonvoy’s latest global promotion starts on 7 February 2023, with double elite nights and 1,000 bonus points per night stayed. It only takes a few seconds to register, so I’d encourage you to do so even if you don’t have any stays planned at the moment.
Assuming that Platinum benefits aren’t going to get nerfed anytime soon (there have been on and off rumours, but nothing concrete), it might be tempting to status run a few cheap stays in Indonesia and Malaysia…
Iโm in!
Thanks Aaron! GXFC!

Aron, Do you have good Marriottโs hotel recommend in Kuala Lumper?
Just chiming in.. I’m not sure if “good” means what can be a good hotel for cheap mattress runs for status, check out the Fairfield KL Jalan Pahang or AC Hotel.. The room rates were going for about US$45 per night including taxes.
if by good you mean good quality, a bit tough. i was underwhelmed by jw marriott breakfast, westin was decent pre covid but no recent reports, ritz seems a bit overpriced.
Thank you Aaron. The price of many hotels are very cheap there. So, I doubt most of them are very old.
I just been to Westin in Dec and it is actually quite good, especially the lounge, enjoyed the Guinness Draught. Sheraton Imperial room is refurbished but service and lounge is bad.
GXFC. I have registered for this promotion. However as I am checking in 30th Jan and checking out 10 Feb, I am wondering if I can earn the elite nights under this promotion. Any idea?
only for the nights consumed within the promotional period.
the nights of 7,8, 9 Feb should count. Whatever is before will not be 2x.
Am still ostracised from this promotion. Maybe due to my status and upcoming bookings.
Hi and GXFC everyone!
