SC EasyBill has launched a new promotion for income tax season, which offers a 100% rebate on the processing fees for cardholders who make income or property tax payments to IRAS.
This is basically an opportunity to earn some free miles, but the catch is that the offer is capped at just 50 applications each month.

From 1 April to 30 June 2025, Standard Chartered will offer a 100% rebate of the SC EasyBill processing fee for payments made to IRAS for personal income tax or property tax.
No registration is required, but the promotion is only available to the first 50 applicants each calendar month. There is also a cap of S$200 per eligible cardholder, for the entire promotion period.
Based on SC EasyBillโs 1.9% processing fee, you would max out the rebate with a tax payment of ~S$10,525. You donโt need to make the payment in a single month if you donโt want to, but you will of course need to be within the first 50 each month.
Which cards are eligible?
This offer is open to principal and supplementary cardholders of Standard Chartered credit cards, excluding the StanChart Visa Infinite and StanChart Beyond Card.
While both of these cards are eligible to use EasyBill, Standard Chartered is running a separate promotion for using the Income Tax Payment Facility, which offers a 100% rebate (capped at S$300) of its usual 1.9% processing fee for IRAS payments.
Given the exclusion of the StanChart Beyond and Visa Infinite Cards, thereโs really only two miles-earning cards in the picture: the StanChart Journey and Priority Banking Visa Infinite. Hereโs what the usual cost per mile looks like, in the absence of any processing fee rebate.
Card | Earn Rate | Cost Per Mile (1.9% admin fee) |

1.2 mpd | 1.58ยข |

1 mpd | 1.9ยข |
*1.4 mpd with min. S$2,000 overall spend in a statement month, otherwise 1 mpd |
If you manage to get the S$200 cash rebate, then itโs basically free miles on a tax payment of up to S$10,525, or 12,630 miles, assuming you have a StanChart Journey Card.
When will the cashback be credited?
Cashback earned under this promotion will be credited by 31 August 2025.

Is it worth it?
This boils down to whether or not youโre feeling lucky.
If youโre confident about getting into the first 50, by all means. But otherwise, CardUp is currently offering a 1.75% admin fee for income tax payments made with a Visa card and the promo code MLTAX25R. This reduces the cost per mile to 1.43 cents with the StanChart Journey Card.

You can use both CardUp and SC EasyBill to pay IRAS, but proceed with caution. Since both services make payments directly to IRAS, using them together can result in โdouble payments.โ This may temporarily strain your cash flow, as youโll be paying more than your usual GIRO schedule requires. If you end up overpaying your taxes, IRAS will issue a refundโwhich could lead to your miles being clawed back.
How does SC EasyBill work?
Hereโs a brief refresher of how SC EasyBill works, using the example of a StanChart Journey Cardholder with a S$10,000 tax bill:
- Cardholder sets up a S$10,000 tax payment to IRAS with SC EasyBill
- Cardholder is charged S$10,190 (S$10,000 + 1.9% admin fee)
- Cardholder earns 12,000 miles (S$10,000 @ 1.2 mpd; the admin fee does not earn miles)
- A S$10,000 bank transfer is made to IRAS on the cardholderโs behalf
You are only permitted to pay your own tax bill through this facility. However, supplementary cardholders can also use the facility to pay their personal taxes.

Conclusion
Standard Chartered is now offering a full rebate of the processing fees for IRAS payments via SC EasyBill. However, itโs limited to the first 50 cardholders who apply each month from now till 30 June 2025.
If youโre confident about being in that number, go ahead and enjoy the free miles. Otherwise, youโll find that CardUp offers the better deal for Visa cards, with its 1.75% admin fee promotion.
