KrisFlyer offering 10% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy

Back in April 2026, Singapore Airlines permanently enhanced its transfer ratio to Marriott Bonvoy, offering members 50% more Marriott Bonvoy points when converting their KrisFlyer miles. While this was a welcome move, it speaks volumes about how awful the previous rate was that even with a 50% boost, converting KrisFlyer miles to Marriott Bonvoy points remained a bad deal!

There’s now a further 10% transfer bonus until 30 September 2026, as part of the ongoing KrisFlyer Miles Paradise campaign. Unfortunately, this still doesn’t make conversions attractive — far from it.

Now, Miles Paradise also has some other “deals” which are best ignored — a 10% conversion bonus for yuu Points, 20% conversion bonus for STAR$ and 30% conversion bonus for Shangri-La Circle, to name a few — but what grinds my gears about the Marriott transfer bonus is that it’s the only one being actively pushed by influencers.

So, as part of my public service, here’s why you should steer clear of this one too.

KrisFlyer offering 10% transfer bonus to Marriott Bonvoy

From 8-30 September 2026, KrisFlyer members can convert KrisFlyer miles into Marriott Bonvoy points with a 10% bonus.

Here are the key points to note:

• A minimum conversion of 3,000 KrisFlyer miles is required
• Conversions beyond the minimum can be made in single-mile increments
• Members are capped at converting 250,000 miles per calendar year

Unlike other partner programmes, there is no need to link your KrisFlyer and Marriott Bonvoy accounts prior to making a transfer. Simply visit this link, scroll down and click on the Marriott Bonvoy option.

You’ll then be asked to provide your Marriott Bonvoy membership number, as well as the number of KrisFlyer miles you wish to convert. 

Bonus points will be credited within 24 hours.

Is it worth it?

No.

Marriott Bonvoy doesn’t have an award chart anymore, but redemptions generally range from 5,000 to 150,000 points per night. There are also a few outliers like the Ritz-Carlton Maldives, St Regis Maldives and Al Maha Dubai where redemptions can cost more than 200,000 points per night.

Obviously, it’s not possible to go through every single example in the network, but since one of the influencers mentioned he stayed at the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort in Cancun, let’s look at that.

I went to find the cheapest award night available from now until the end of 2026, and compared it with the flexible cash rate on the same night (since Marriott Bonvoy redemptions can be cancelled).

It was 46,000 points per night, versus a US$143 (US$181.94 after taxes) cash rate. That works out to 0.40 SG¢ per point. Under the current transfer bonus, that’s like accepting 0.33 SG¢ per mile. I hope you see how miserable that is.

Thankfully, not every redemption is that abject. If you visit the MaxMyPoint website, you can find Marriott hotels offering higher value for points.

The consensus online is that 1 Marriott Bonvoy point is worth 0.8 US cents at best, so with the conversion bonus, you’re getting 0.83 SG cents per mile. 

Even if you don’t plan to redeem an award flight, this is significantly less than what you’d get from spending your miles on KrisShop, Pelago or Kris+, with their temporarily upsized values during the Miles Paradise campaign.

If I had a small number of miles that were due to expire, I would sooner spend them at a Kris+ merchant instead, which allows for redemptions from as little as 10 miles.

What about converting Marriott Bonvoy points to KrisFlyer miles?

Unfortunately, the bonus does not apply in the opposite direction from Marriott Bonvoy to KrisFlyer.

The conversion ratio between Marriott Bonvoy points and KrisFlyer miles remains at 3:1.

• A minimum conversion of 3,000 points is required
• For every 60,000 points converted, a bonus of 5,000 miles is awarded (i.e. 25,000 miles total)
• Members are capped at converting 240,000 points per day
• Points conversions are usually processed on the same day

Given how easy it is to earn KrisFlyer miles in Singapore, it does seem like a waste of Marriott Bonvoy points to use them this way. If I had to convert points to miles, I’d pick a more “exotic” frequent flyer programme that doesn’t have great earning opportunities for Singapore residents.

Conclusion

KrisFlyer members can enjoy a 10% bonus when they convert their miles into Marriott Bonvoy points by 30 September 2026. However, the effective rate of 3,000 miles = 2,475 points is still a poor trade, as it values your miles at 0.83 cents (or even less, given how Marriott award prices have inflated of late).

Save your miles instead for an award flight redemption, or use them on Kris+ or Pelago as a last resort. It’s better value than Marriott Bonvoy conversions — no matter what social media tells you.
