Deal: StanChart Journey Card offering 3 NVIDIA shares and S$50 cash

The latest StanChart Journey Card sign-up bonus offers stocks instead of miles — but when it's 3x NVIDIA and S$50 cash, who's complaining?

After running the same welcome offer for more than a year, the Standard Chartered Journey Card is now switching things up with a brand new offer that runs for the next four months.

The sign-up bonus now is no longer miles, but rather stocks, namely 3 NVIDIA shares — worth nearly S$900 at the time of publishing — stackable with an extra S$50 cash or 3,500 Max Miles for applying through SingSaver.

Put together, the total value of the welcome gifts is just shy of S$1,000, and quite possibly the most generous welcome offer I’ve ever seen.

StanChart Journey Card new welcome offer

Apply

The StanChart Journey Card’s welcome offer is valid for applications submitted from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027 by new-to-card customers, defined as those who:

  • Do not currently hold a principal StanChart credit card, and
  • Have not cancelled a principal StanChart credit card in the past 12 months

Successful applicants will have to complete three tasks.

(1) Make a minimum card spend

Cardholders must charge at least S$1,000 of eligible transactions within the first 30 days of approval.

For example, if your card is approved on 15 October 2026, all your eligible transactions must be posted by 14 November 2026. Don’t leave your spending until the last minute, as any transactions posted after the 30-day window will not count, even if the transactions were made during the qualifying period.

Eligible transactions include both online and offline spending in SGD or FCY, excluding the following:

  • Charitable donations
  • Education expenses
  • Government transactions
  • Hospitals
  • Insurance premiums
  • Prepaid account top-ups (e.g. GrabPay and YouTrip)
  • Utilities

For the avoidance of doubt, SC EasyBill transactions will count towards qualifying spend. The full list of qualifying spend exclusions can be found here.

(2) Deposit funds into Bonus$aver account

Cardholders must open — or already have — a Bonus$aver account, and make a fresh funds deposit (i.e. funds from outside of Standard Chartered) of S$20,000 or S$50,000.

Deposit Reward
S$20,000 1x NVIDIA share
S$50,000 3x NVIDIA shares

Funds must be maintained until the end of the qualifying period (i.e. 30 days from the approval date of the card).

If you already have a Bonus$aver account, then the additional S$20,000 or S$50,000 fresh funds are on top of whatever balance you had on the day prior to Journey card approval. For example, if your card was approved on 15 October 2026 and your Bonus$aver account balance was S$100,000 on 14 October 2026, you’ll need to top up to S$150,000 to satisfy the criteria for 3x NVIDIA shares.

(3) Open an SC Online Trading Account

Cardholders must open — or already have — an SC Online Trading Account by the end of the qualifying period (i.e. 30 days from the approval date of the card).

This involves:

  • Opening an SC Online Trading Account as the primary accountholder
  • Completing your Customer Account Review and submitting your W-8BEN Form
  • Satisfying any applicable account opening, suitability, regulatory and tax documentation requirements prescribed by the Bank

When will the sign-up bonus be credited?

If you meet the qualifying criteria, your NVIDIA shares will be credited to the SC Online Trading Account by the 10th working day of the following month.

  Example 1 Example 2
Card Approval Date 15 Oct 2026 15 Oct 2026
30-day Qualifying Period Ends 14 Nov 2026 14 Nov 2026
Eligible Customer Qualifying Actions Completed 29 Oct 2026 10 Nov 2026
Eligibility Verified On 31 Oct 2026 30 Nov 2026
Welcome Rewards Credited By 16 Nov 2026 14 Dec 2026

That’s actually remarkably fast. If you complete all the requirements within the month you sign up, you could have your shares as soon as the following month.

Additional SingSaver welcome gifts

New-to-card customers who apply for a StanChart Journey Card via the SingSaver links in this article will enjoy the Standard Chartered welcome offer mentioned above, plus one of the following:

  • S$50 cash
  • 3,500 Max Miles

3,500 Max Miles are worth S$63 if cashed out through the HeyMax FlyAnywhere feature, so that would be my preference.

Cardholders must spend at least S$1,000 within 30 days of approval, which you would in order to get the NVIDIA stock gift anyway.

What if I already have a Bonus$aver account?

Here’s where things get a little complicated.

There are two possible application paths:

  • You already have a Bonus$aver account, but no Journey card
  • You don’t have a Bonus$aver account nor Journey card

SingSaver only has access to the second path, so if you already have a Bonus$aver account, you cannot apply through SingSaver. There is no issue if you have another type of Standard Chartered bank account.

You are still eligible for the NVIDIA welcome gift if you have a Bonus$aver account — provided you meet the new-to-card definition — but you’ll need to apply through Standard Chartered directly.

As an aside, don’t forget that the Bonus$aver account comes with its own Bonus$aver credit card. Hopefully you cancelled this already, because if not, it will disqualify you from being new-to-card.

For the avoidance of doubt, you can apply through SingSaver even if you already have an SC Online Trading Account.

^Not for Bus/MRT, as this is a contactless spend and not online

Do note that the examples are not exhaustive; all that matters is:

  • the MCC falls within the approved range
  • the transaction is online
  • the transaction is in SGD

This 3 mpd rate is capped at S$1,000 per statement month. You could, of course, do better with 4 mpd on other cards, but if you’ve maxed out those caps then this would be a potential fall-back option.

Conclusion

Apply

The StanChart Journey Card’s new sign-up bonus is easily one of the most lucrative offers I’ve ever seen. Three NVIDIA shares plus the SingSaver gift are worth close to S$1,000 in value, and you don’t even need to pay the first year’s annual fee for the Journey card.

That assumes you have S$50,000 of fresh funds to park with Standard Chartered, though the money only has to sit there for the 30-day qualifying period so the opportunity cost isn’t huge.

As for the card itself, the Journey isn’t going to win any awards for its everyday earn rates, though 3 mpd on online food delivery and transport make it a decent fallback option once your 4 mpd caps are exhausted. But that’s really more of a footnote here, given how attractive the welcome offer is.
