Air France-KLM joint sale now on; fares to Europe from S$814

Book by 10 May 2018, fly by 30 November 2018.

Air France and KLM are currently running a joint sale in the form of KLM’s 85th birthday celebrations and Air France’s French Click deals, where RT economy fares to Europe can be had from S$814.

These fares can be booked from now until 10 May 2018 and tickets are valid for travel until 30 November 2018 for both Air France and KLM flights. You can see all the destinations which are on offer here for KLM, and you can see the fares which are offered by Air France here.

Warsaw from S$819, London from S$844

Some of the picks during this sale from KLM would include Helsinki from S$814, Warsaw from S$819 and Dublin at S$875. Air France has a lot more destinations including Budapest from S$1,001 and Nice from S$1,270.

What’s interesting about this fare sale is that if you book on either KLM or Air France’s website, you will still be able to see promotional fares offered by both airlines since they operate under the same parent company and have interline agreements with each other.

Since it’s operated by AF, your transit will be in CDG
Featured fare on Air France’s website that’s also searchable on KLM’s site

Just take note which airline your flight will be operated on as this could mean transiting in Paris Charles de Gaulle(CDG) instead of Amsterdam’s Schiphol(AMS) and experiencing two different kinds of economy class products.

Concluding thoughts

The fares which are being offered by both Air France and KLM are quite competitive especially to cities in which you’ll have to make a one-stop connection regardless of which airline you take.

Take note that if you are crediting these to Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue program, they started going revenue based and your award miles will be based on the air fare component of the ticket. Otherwise, you can use wheretocredit.com to check which frequent flyer program would earn you the most miles which can be put to use for SkyTeam redemption flights.

You can use the following cards to perform your booking on either Air France’s website or KLM’s website:

Credit CardMiles Per DollarBonus Spend Cap
DBS Woman’s World Card4Capped at S$2,000 per month
DBS Altitude3Capped at S$5,000 for online airfare and hotels per month
HSBC Revolution/Maybank Horizon Visa Signature2No cap for HSBC Revolution. Maybank requires you to spend min $300 a month to earn 2 mpd on air tickets. Bonus TREATS points are capped at 30,000 per month, or $7,500 of pure airline spending

Just be aware that Air France are prone to strike action (sudden or planned!), either get that extra insurance (or make sure your insurance covers it). Prefer KLM to Air France (and similarly, prefer AMS to CDG).
