From 11 May to 10 June 2020, foodpanda is offering an 18% bonus on KrisFlyer miles, with theย chance to win 8,000 bonus miles each week for four weeks.
How it works
foodpanda orders normally earn miles at a rate of S$1= 1 mile, subject to a minimum spend of S$20 (excluding delivery fees).
From 11 May to 10 June 2020, this rate is increased to S$1=1.18 miles, with the same minimum spend requirement.
To earn KrisFlyer miles, you’ll need to enter your 10-digit KrisFlyer number under the “contact info” section just before you place your order.
KrisFlyer miles are credited to your account automatically with no transfer fees. Miles earned through foodpanda are officially credited within 60 days of ordering. Based on real-life experience, however, they’re usually batched and credited within the first week of the following month.
The winners of the 8,000 bonus miles will be chosen randomly and announced weekly on the following dates:
Week of | Winner Announced |
11-17 May | 20 May |
18-24 May | 27 May |
25-31 May | 3 June |
1-7 June | 11 June |
The T&C’s aren’t exactly clear on how your chances are calculated- I would assume that every purchase which earns KrisFlyer miles constitutes an entry.

How does this compare to GrabFood?
The only other food delivery option that allows you to earn KrisFlyer miles is GrabFood.
GrabRewards members earn 2-4 points per S$1 spent on GrabFood, after March’s mega-devaluation. These points can be redeemed for KrisFlyer miles at a rate of 10 points: 1 mile (also devalued), so your equivalent earn rate is a very miserable 0.2-0.4 mpd.
On the flip side, there’s no minimum spend required to earn GrabRewards points when ordering with GrabFood.

What card should I use for foodpanda?
In addition to the miles from foodpanda, you can also earn additional miles by using the right credit card to pay for your purchase.
I previously wrote an article about the best cards to use for online food delivery, but to recap: foodpanda transactions process under MCC 5499, which means you can use the following cards to maximize your miles.
Evergreen
The following cards will earn you up to 4 mpd on foodpanda, throughout the year.

Take particular care with the Citi Rewards card. The Visa version has no issues with 10X on online food delivery, but Mastercard users have reported not getting 10X with foodpanda & Deliveroo. |
Card Promotions
In addition to the evergreen cards, the following cards are running limited-time promotions for bonus miles on foodpanda.

OCBC Titanium Rewards | 8 mpd | โคS$500 of eligible trxns from 15/4-31/5. Reg required |

Conclusion
If you’re alright with a S$20 minimum purchase, foodpanda is a much superior option to GrabFood in terms of earning miles on food delivery. The additional 18% simply sweetens the deal.
