For a very brief time, the Capitol Kempinski is running a flash deal on rooms, with a guaranteed upgrade and late check-out thrown in.
This deal technically goes live only on 28 February, but the rates are already showing up on the website and can be booked without any issues.ย
Capitol Kempinski 28.2 Flash Deal
Capitol Kempinski’s 28.2 Flash Deal is valid for bookings made up till 2359 on 28 February 2021, with stays from 28 February to 30 April 2021.ย
All bookings will enjoy:
- Daily breakfast
- Guaranteed room upgrade (Monday to Thursday only)
- Guaranteed 3 p.m check-out (Monday to Thursday only)
- Free parking
Do note that all bookings are non-refundable, so be sure to verify your plans before pulling the trigger. Here’s the lowest pricing I found for each category:
ย | Size | Nightly Rate |
Classic Room | 32 sqm | S$282 nett |
Deluxe Room | 45 sqm | S$382 nett |
Heritage Room | 45 sqm | S$482 nett |
Grand Deluxe Room | 50 sqm | S$582 nett |
Executive Suite | 55 sqm | S$682 nett |
Keep in mind there’s a guaranteed room upgrade (at least for Monday to Thursday stays), so those who book a Classic Room will get a Deluxe Room, those who book a Deluxe Room will get a Heritage Room etc. (and yes, those who book an Executive Suite will get a Stamford suite)
We’ve seen the Capitol Kempinski offer S$282 nett rates with breakfast before, but those didn’t come with a guaranteed room upgrade. I’d say this is a great deal for regular rooms, but perhaps not so much for suites (Stamford Suites have gone as low as S$623 nett with S$100 F&B credit, better than the S$682 nett you’d pay under this offer).ย
Capitol Kempinski tells me they’ve modified their evening cocktails policy, so all suites guests will now enjoy them (previously you had to book at least a Stamford Suite). However, this is based on the room category you booked, so if you booked a Grand Deluxe Room and get upgraded into an Executive Suite, you won’t be entitled to this benefit.ย
Capitol Kempinski’s saltwater swimming pool and gym have reopened
For the longest time, the Capitol Kempinski’s saltwater pool was undergoing refurbishments. Guests who wanted to swim were redirected to a penthouse at the neighboring Eden Residences, which isn’t so much a pool as it is an outdoor jacuzzi. It’s definitely not the kind of place you’d want to share with strangers.ย
The good news is that Kempinski’s outdoor saltwater pool has reopened. It’s not the largest of pools, but it certainly offers a much nicer environment than an unfurnished penthouse.ย
Similarly, the hotel’s gym is now operating once more, a marked improvement over the previous temporary facility.ย
Facility reservations can be made with the front office upon arrival, or 48 hours before arriving via guestservices.singapore@kempinski.com
Conclusion
Even after doing more than a dozen staycations, Capitol Kempinski continues to set the bar for breakfast and service. A S$282 nett rate with a free upgrade is as good as it gets, and I’d much sooner take this over a lot of other hotels at the same price point.ย
As a reminder, this sale must be booked directly with the hotel, so you can’t use your S$100 SingapoRediscovers vouchers here.ย
It allows you to cancel by 4pm two days before the day of check in.
Thanks! I was wondering about that. ๐
But it says on the website that it cannot be cancelled.
You mean change dates and not cancel?
Yeah just saw that. This is confusing, will check with them
clarified with kempinski. this was an error on their part, reservations should be non-refundable. however, they will honor all reservations made with the more flexible terms.
Hi, am I still able to make booking for Kempinski 28.2?
No. Not possible to book the 28.2 deal for obvious reasons. But they do have a same 3.01 deal at $301! The deal is still online at the time of writing. Sounds like the hotels are getting desperate for guests again given that the local demand for such staycations is weaning. If they start pushing out such deals on a daily or weekly basis, I think many will find it gimmicky and get turned off.
Wondering why they never name the new 3.01 deal as 01.3 deal instead. ๐ lol
