I reviewed the club room experience at the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering back in November, and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea and evening canapes selection (wait till dining-in resumes for the best experience). Champagne at breakfast is always a huge plus, although I thought the food quality was rather dire.

Matthew reviewed the club room experience at the PARKROYAL on Beach Road, but based on his visit, the evening canapes are a big step down from what it used to be.

The PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay has just opened its club lounge, so I don’t have any data points about that yet. I am considering staying there for my next staycation, although I suspect I’ll be quite disappointed by the rooms (the bathrooms in particular, look like they were forgotten during the renovation).

How to book these rates

The discount will be automatically reflected when you select a stay of two nights during the promotion period. Make sure you’re choosing the correct room type, and check that the inclusions are mentioned. Here’s what you should see for the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering…

…the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay…

…and the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road.

I haven’t had luck getting the PARKROYAL on Beach Road rate to appear, no matter what dates I searched.

Conclusion

If you’re willing to do a two night staycation, I’d say that a rate of S$490 nett at the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is a really good deal. On a per night basis, it’s even cheaper than the deal I booked last year (S$253 nett/night, which I was already very happy with).

The PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay may also be an interesting choice, especially now that they’ve removed all that unsightly barricades around the swimming pool and the hotel should be having its official grand reopening any day now.

If you’re a GHA elite, do note that by right you will not be entitled to any benefits if you book through Trip.com. Anecdotally speaking, the hotel may extend some perks on a goodwill basis, but they’re not obliged to so don’t push your luck.
