Citi ULTIMA Card becomes Singapore’s first World Legend Mastercard

From 17 November 2026, the Citi ULTIMA Card in Singapore will be upgraded to World Legend, with additional travel and dining benefits.

Back in July 2025, Mastercard announced a new, ultra-premium tier called World Legend, which sits at the very top of its card hierarchy (technically, there’s an even higher tier called World Legend Exclusive — always a bigger fish!).

This was perhaps a tacit acknowledgement that World Elite had become a little too pedestrian over the years. No disrespect to the S$652 Citi Prestige, but it probably shouldn’t be sharing the same tier as the S$5,328 HSBC Prive.

World Legend launched in the United States in Q3 2025, and arrived in Asia Pacific in May 2026 with the HSBC Prive in Hong Kong. I assumed the HSBC Prive in Singapore would be next, but surprisingly, Citi has beaten HSBC to the punch, and will introduce World Legend through the Citi ULTIMA later this month.

Citi ULTIMA becomes World Legend Mastercard in Singapore

From 17 November 2026, the Citi ULTIMA Card will be upgraded from World Elite to World Legend.

Here’s the email that was sent out to cardholders:

Your Citi ULTIMA World Elite Mastercard will become a World Legend Mastercard

Your Citi ULTIMA experience has made the leap from exceptional to legendary. Effective 17 November 2026, your Citi ULTIMA World Elite Mastercard will be elevated to World Legend Mastercard.

As Mastercard’s highest and most prestigious consumer credit card tier, World Legend Mastercard is designed for a truly exceptional lifestyle offering exclusive global access with premium travel, dining and entertainment benefits from The Mastercard Collection.

Citi is honoured to be the first in Singapore to launch World Legend in partnership with Mastercard, and proud to present this offering to you, our most prestigious customers.

Discover a new suite of travel, dining and lifestyle privileges with World Legend Mastercard, in addition to all the Citi ULTIMA benefits you already enjoy.

World Legend benefits will be available to both principal and supplementary cardholders. As a reminder, the Citi ULTIMA offers two supplementary cards for free, with the third onwards costing S$1,090.

There is no requirement to replace your existing physical card, as the BIN (the first few digits of the credit card number) will be automatically recognised as World Legend from the switchover date. The digital card in the Citi Mobile app will be updated to reflect World Legend.

All other Citi ULTIMA benefits remain unchanged.

What benefits does World Legend offer?

World Legend cardholders enjoy additional privileges as part of The Mastercard Collection, alongside all the benefits enjoyed by World Elite.

Airport fast-track access

Mastercard fast-track lane

Mastercard offers security fast-track lanes at selected airports worldwide, and World Legend cardholders receive complimentary access for themselves and up to three guests.

It’s a nice benefit, though the coverage at the moment is heavily weighted towards Europe and the Middle East.

Fast-track lane locations

Closer to home, the only Southeast Asian options are Phuket and Chiang Mai in Thailand, and Cam Ranh, Da Nang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. There’s nothing in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia or North America.

Taste by Priceless Dining Club

Taste by Priceless Hong Kong

Taste by Priceless is a dining club concept that Mastercard operates at selected international airports. There are currently two such clubs, in Sao Paulo Guarulhos and Hong Kong. A third club is planned for Mexico City, with the opening date yet to be confirmed.

World Legend cardholders receive complimentary access for themselves and up to three guests. Remember, access is available to principal and supplementary cardholders, so a Citi ULTIMA cardholder travelling with their two supplementary cardholders could bring a party of up to 12 travellers.

Do remember to bring your physical card for access, as digital cards are not accepted at the moment.

I’ve visited the Hong Kong location — on a media invite — and was blown away by the quality of the food and drinks.

Taste by Priceless Hong Kong

This isn’t “good for airport” food, this is great food, period (only complaint: no champagne). Mastercard has clearly invested a lot of money in the experience, and it shows.

It’s the kind of thing I’d consider going back for, though as a lowly World Elite I’ll have to pay US$70 for access — or possibly more from 2027.

Principal and supplementary World Legend Mastercard cardholders continue to receive unlimited complimentary access to Taste by Priceless, together with three guests. The 4th and subsequent guests will incur a fee of US$100 per person.

Principal and supplementary World Elite, World Select and World Mastercard cardholders may purchase access at US$85 per person. This rate will also be extended to the first guest for World Elite cardholders.

All other guests, as well as Platinum and Standard Mastercard cardholders, will be charged a fee of US$100 per person.

It’s worth noting that the promotional rate has been extended numerous times. It was originally set to lapse at the end of September, then was pushed to October and so on. I wouldn’t take it as a given that the price will really increase in 2027, but we’ll see.

Mastercard Dining Collection

Mastercard offers special dining privileges and priority reservations at restaurants across Singapore and selected Asia Pacific destinations.

World Legend cardholders enjoy up to US$200 off a minimum spend of US$500, or up to US$100 off a minimum spend of US$350, capped at once per quarter.

The list of participating restaurants can be found here. Options in Singapore include JAAN, Willow, Lerouy 3.0, Esquina, Bottega di Carna and Hai Tien Lo.

Conclusion

Citi ULTIMA Cards will be upgraded to World Legend on 17 November 2026, which brings with it some nice additional benefits. There’s no new card to activate, no extra fee, and it’s offered to both principal and supplementary cardholders.

The most exciting benefit is probably Taste by Priceless, given Hong Kong’s proximity to Singapore. The food here is fantastic, and each cardholder can bring up to three guests.

While Citi gets the bragging rights for being first, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before the HSBC Prive follows suit.

I did some search on “the bigger fish” you mentioned.

Mastercard reserves the “Exclusive” moniker strictly for select Middle Eastern private wealth markets. Globally, the World Legend Exclusive tier is used on an incredibly restricted, invite-only basis by institutions like First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) in the UAE and Doha Bank in Qatar.

For the Singaporean ultra-high-net-worth market, banks choose to deploy the World Legend tier (or their own bespoke internal branding, like the DBS Insignia or HSBC Privé) as their ultimate card offering.

Your upcoming Citi ULTIMA transition represents the very ceiling of what Mastercard offers in the region.
