As more hotels get approved for staycations, we’re seeing an increasing number of deals flooding the market. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, and because not every deal’s a good one, there’s some landmines to avoid!ย
In this series of posts, I’m going to highlight what I think are the best deals for each price segment, so staycationers of all budgets have options. Deals aren’t static, so I’ll periodically update these posts as new ones pop up and old ones get nerfed.ย
You can find additional resources on The Milelion’s Staycation Portal.
โ How have hotels been segmented? |
I’m adopting the same four segments that the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) uses for its statistics reporting. The STB classifies hotels into four segments based on average room rates, location and product characteristics:ย
Although the STB doesn’t provide a specific list of which hotel falls into what category, I’m using their guidelines plus the average price points of each segment to determine classification. |

The Fairmont Hotel is currently serving as a SHN facility, but they’ve blocked off the South Tower for these guests and opened the North Tower for staycationers.
The “Upsized Staycation Offer” starts at S$359 nett,ย for which you’ll get a S$100 F&B credit, breakfast, early check-in/late check-out, plus a S$50 return stay voucher. For those with kids in tow, breakfast extends to two children, plus you get an extra bed for free.ย
Here’s where it may make sense to pay a small upcharge for a better room. For an additional S$60++ per night, you can get a Fairmont Gold room, which comes with club lounge access. Last I heard, the happy hour spread here is quite impressive and could even be a dinner replacement (although it remains to be seen how this changes post Covid-19). Laurent-Perrier champagne is served, and if you and your companion are big eaters it may be worth the cost.

Goodwood Park is offering a Family Staycation package for S$339 nett,ย which comes with breakfast and a further free set meal. There are some child-friendly perks like teddy bears and milk & cookies (ah, nostalgia).ย
However, I think theย Restless in Singapore package (S$586 nett) is a better deal. This gets you two nights in a Deluxe Room with breakfast plus two other meals settled. It also comes with 10 a.m check-in and 3 p.m check out, and a space-available room upgrade.

On the Intercontinental’s official website, they’re offering aย S$398 nett staycation package that comes with a S$50 dining credit and breakfast. Don’t take this offer.ย
Instead, take the Trip.com package. For S$228 nett, you get pretty much the same inclusions, minus the S$50 dining credit. You still come out way ahead.ย

Marriott is offering two packages of interest. The Iconic City Staycation costs S$304 nett,ย and throws in a S$50 F&B credit (assuming two adults), late check-out, breakfast and free parking.ย
The Blissful Escapes package is advertised on the Marriott website as pricing “from S$380++” per night, but I’ve been able to find dates where the package starts at just S$306++ (S$360 nett). This is a pretty compelling rate for a suite with club lounge access, plus a champagne high tea.ย
PARKROYAL Pickering

Those of you who work in the CBD must be familiar with the PARKROYAL Pickering– it’s the hotel with the garden growing out of it. It’s certainly eye-catching, but unfortunately comes with prices to match.
That’s why Trip.com’s staycation package is particularly attractive. For S$253 nett, you get a night in a club room, plus breakfast. Club Lounge rooms usually cost upwards of S$400 nett, so this is a steal in my book.
As a club lounge guest, you’ll enjoy the following privileges:
- Access to the COLLECTIONย Club Lounge at Level 16 from 6:30am to 10:30pm
- Complimentary welcome drink (non-alcoholic)
- All-day refreshments (non-alcoholic)
- Champagne breakfast from 6:30am to 10:30am
- Afternoon tea from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
- Evening cocktails from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
- Exclusive access to outdoor rooftop terraces
I’ve booked one of these for myself- they had me at champagne breakfast.
Conclusion
If you want a sense of how these staycation deals compare to those we were seeing before the circuit breaker, you can check out my staycation article from March 2020. Not all the URLs will still be valid, but I did documented the cost and inclusions in the article.ย
If you see any other great staycation deals, do send them over to me via this link and I’ll take a look.ย
Stay tuned for other picks from across the price spectrum.ย
Andaz on Klook also a good deal at $280.
Plus $30 discount using visa. $250 nett with brekkie and $100 f&b credit.
it’s really no different from booking on official site- $180 nett without the f&b credit. $30 visa code may have been exhausted already, not sure.
Not to mention the Andaz isn’t re-opening until October
Anyone knows how the Conrad handles Hilton Diamonds if they book through Trip?
No benefits accorded at all, they were very firm about it the last time I was there though that was pre-covid.
It appears that Fairmont Gold Lounge is closed until further notice.
that’s a shame. i’ll check with the hotel how they’re handling guests who have booked club rooms
The trip.com rates for Intercontinental and Parkroyal Pickering are a steal but they donโt seem to be available. Are these sold out?
Yeah looks like it. Updated the post- they may come back though
Hopefully they do! These two hotels are interesting and the price point is a really sweet spot for a 2 nights local staycation. What do you think of Kempinski offer at 588nett compared to the above sold out deals?
it’s an ok deal, but check out the 2 night package on the official site- that one has some F&B credit which may make it a better deal if you wanted to dine at the restaurants in the first place (i love 15 stamford)
Were you able to make a booking for this year using the trip.com voucher? It seems that rooms this year are unavailable.
i bought parkroyal pickering. they are SHN until year end.
Just wanna check, did you receive a call to cancel your Trip.com voucher for parkroyal pickering? Received a call yesterday saying they are unable to fulfil cause the hotel is not approved and asked me to cancel and get refund
yup. they said i could hold on to it until 2021 if i was willing to wait.
