KrisFlyer boosts conversion ratio to yuu Points

In October 2024, yuu Rewards Club added Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer as a points transfer partner, with a conversion rate that transformed the DBS yuu Card into an outstanding 10 mpd option.

The partnership became two-way in April 2025, when KrisFlyer added conversions in the opposite direction. However, this was a far less exciting development, because the stingy conversion rate of 1:1.325 valued miles at just 0.66 cents each — one of the worst options for using KrisFlyer miles. 

Singapore Airlines has now enhanced that ratio to 1:1.5, and reduced the minimum transfer size. While it’s a better deal than before, it’s not exactly what you’d call sensational value, and members would be well-advised to steer clear.

KrisFlyer enhances conversions to yuu Points

From 1 September 2026, KrisFlyer miles can be converted into yuu Points at a ratio of 1 mile = 1.5 yuu Points, a 13% increase from before. In addition to this, the minimum transfer size has been cut from 2,000 miles to 1,600 miles, or 20% less.

All other aspects of the partnership remain unchanged:

• Transfers above the minimum are in single-mile increments (so you could transfer odd blocks like 1,603 miles)
• Conversions are free of charge
• Conversions are processed instantly
• Members can convert a maximum of 80,000 KrisFlyer miles to yuu Points per calendar year

But like I said, it’s still not a compelling deal. 1 yuu Point is worth 0.5 cents, so converting KrisFlyer miles into yuu Points is equivalent to accepting a value of 0.75 cents per mile.

The revised figure might be slightly more than other non-flight redemption options, but it’s still far short of the 1 cent per mile cash value offered for paying with KrisFlyer miles for Singapore Airlines and Scoot tickets, or purchases on Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago.

The only scenario where yuu Points conversions might make sense is if you have expiring miles, as the 1,600-mile minimum conversion and single-mile increments allow you to make a surgical redemption without touching non-expiring miles.

But then again, Kris+ has a 10-mile minimum and values miles at 1 cent each. With more than 600 merchants across Singapore, this is a far superior way of liquidating expiring miles.

It’s worth noting that we have seen some conversion bonuses in the past, most recently March 2026 where members received 20% more yuu Points for converting KrisFlyer miles. A similar offer with the new baseline conversion ratio would be more interesting, though it (0.75 cents * 1.2 = 0.9 cents per mile) would still fall short of the 1 cent per mile benchmark that you should be getting at a minimum. 

Converting KrisFlyer miles into Max Miles?

This probably isn’t something you want to do, but it’s an interesting thought experiment nonetheless.

Ever since June 2026, it’s been possible to convert yuu Points into Max Miles at a 3.6:1 ratio.

Therefore, you could theoretically convert KrisFlyer miles > yuu Points > Max Miles, effectively trading 1 KrisFlyer mile for 0.42 Max Miles.

Is there any scenario where you’d do this? Well…it’s unlikely.

I certainly consider Max Miles to be more valuable than KrisFlyer miles (given the wider range of transfer partners), but not 2.4X more valuable. And even if you urgently needed some additional Max Miles for a redemption, HeyMax First offers a better solution. What about yuu Points to KrisFlyer miles conversions?

While converting KrisFlyer miles into yuu Points is a bad idea, transfers in the opposite direction are certainly worth considering.

As a reminder, 3.6 yuu Points can be converted into 1 KrisFlyer mile, via the yuu app. A minimum conversion of 200 yuu Points is required.

Conversions in this direction entail an opportunity cost of 1.52 cents, which is reasonable enough — though given that yuu Points can be converted into Max Miles at the same ratio, I’d rather go for Max Miles. 

The relatively small conversion blocks make yuu Points a great way of performing a surgical top-up to a KrisFlyer account, without the unwieldy 10,000 miles blocks that most banks require.

Conclusion

Singapore Airlines has slightly improved the transfer ratio between KrisFlyer miles and yuu Points, with each mile getting you 1.5 yuu Points, instead of 1.325 yuu Points before. The minimum transfer amount has also been reduced to 1,600 KrisFlyer miles.

That said, it still remains fundamentally unattractive, valuing your miles at just 0.75 cents each. This is 25% less than the 1 cent per mile cash value available when paying with miles for Singapore Airlines or Scoot flights, or purchases with Kris+, KrisShop and Pelago. Even if your miles were about to expire and you had no travel plans, using them on Kris+ would be a far better idea.

The first-best redemption option continues to be First or Business Class award redemptions, so hopefully that’s what you’re doing!
