HSBC Wow Weekend: Staycation deals at Fullerton Bay Hotel, Kempinski, Raffles, Shangri-La and more

HSBC will be running the latest edition of its WOW Weekend staycation sale from 15-17 October 2021. Bookings go live at midnight tonight, with special deals for the first 50 customers in each category. 

Participating properties this time round include the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, Fullerton Bay Hotel, Goodwood Park Hotel, Raffles Hotel, The Capitol Kempinski and Shangri-La Singapore.

Fullerton Hotel Singapore

The first 50 bookings will pay S$280.37++ (S$330 nett) for a one-night stay in a Heritage Room with breakfast and S$130 of F&B credits. 6 p.m check-out will be accorded to guests staying from Monday to Wednesday. 

The 51st booking onwards will pay S$30 more, while receiving S$30 less F&B credits. 

I stayed at The Fullerton Hotel last year, and while breakfast was disappointing, the renovated rooms, service and atmosphere were top drawer. It’s a gorgeous hotel for anyone looking to snap some nice staycation photos.

Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore

The first 50 bookings will pay S$458.80++ (S$540 nett)/S$484.28++ (S$570 nett) for a weekday/weekend stay in a Premier Room with breakfast and S$130 of F&B credits. 3 p.m check-out will be accorded to guests staying from Monday to Wednesday. 

There is no alternative offer for the 51st onwards; once bookings are gone, they’re gone. 

This is a very competitive price for the Fullerton Bay Hotel, which delivered a great experience during my recent stay. It’s got one of the most gorgeous swimming pools in Singapore, and the breakfast is a big improvement over The Fullerton Hotel.

Goodwood Park Hotel

The first 50 bookings will pay S$350++ (S$412 nett)/ S$380++ (S$447 nett) for a weekday/weekend stay in a Poolside Suite, with breakfast for 2, S$80 F&B credit, 15% off F&B and assorted welcome gifts. 

The 51st booking onwards will pay S$28++ more, with the same inclusions. 

Despite the Goodwood Park Hotel’s age, rooms in the Lobby Wing (where the Poolside Suites reside) are refreshingly modern, having just completed a renovation in February 2021. I stayed in a renovated Deluxe Premier room back in August, and didn’t have any complaints about wear and tear.

The Capitol Kempinski

The first 50 bookings will pay S$245++ (S$288 nett) for a one night stay in a Classic Room, with breakfast for two, S$88 of F&B credits, and guaranteed 11 a.m/3 p.m check-in/out on Monday to Thursday.

If you’re outside the first 50, the rate increases to S$288++ (S$339 nett) and the F&B credits are reduced to S$38. 

This deal is identical to the previous ones we’ve seen for Kempinski, and I’d book it without hesitation. From the 51st onwards it gets more marginal, although GHA Blacks may still find it attractive for a shot at a Stamford Suite upgrade (these bookings are eligible for elite benefits and LE earning).

Those who require more space can opt for a Grand Deluxe Room instead, which costs S$325++ (S$383 nett) for the first 50 and S$368++ (S$433 nett) from the 51st onwards. Inclusions remain the same as above. 

Frequent readers will know that I’m a big fan of the Kempinski, which delivers great service and one of the best breakfast experiences in Singapore. 

Raffles Hotel Singapore

The first 50 bookings will enjoy S$50 off the regular S$1,050++ (S$1,236 nett) rate for two nights at the Raffles Hotel, with breakfast, a S$50 boutique credit and S$150 F&B credits. 

If you’re outside the first 50 there’s no S$50 discount, but the inclusions remain the same.

This isn’t as good a deal as what we saw during a previous WOW Weekend (S$900++), but in the grand scheme of things it’s still a decent offer for the Raffles Hotel. I doubt we’ll ever see the S$936 nett deal I snagged for the Raffles in August 2020 appear again. 

Shangri-La Singapore

The first 50 bookings will pay S$237.52++ (S$280 nett) for a one-night stay in a Garden Wing Deluxe Room from Mondays to Thursdays, with breakfast and S$50 of F&B credits.

The 51st booking onwards will pay an additional S$50, with the same inclusions. 

I’d say this is a very good rate for the Shangri-La Singapore, especially for those with kids. This hotel is one of the most kid-friendly resorts in Singapore, with a mini water park and a kids club with all-day activities for the younglings. You can check out my review of the Garden Wing here.

Conclusion

All deals go live at midnight tonight, but the Fullerton, Fullerton Bay and Goodwood Park deals can be booked via email, so there’s no reason to lose sleep. Simply compose your email (be sure to state dates, number of adults and children, your full name and contact number- don’t worry about card details, that will be settled separately) and set Outlook to auto-send it at 12 a.m.

Final point: as these deals are booked directly with the hotel, SingapoRediscovers Vouchers cannot be used. On the plus side, you’ll earn hotel points or elite credits where applicable.
